The atmosphere

To much stuff in and out of the lodge ( chairs -tables and a fridge).

Very nice location in the middle of nature, good position also for Volcano National Park (about 1 hour driving). The cottage was spacious and comfortable, pretty clean.

I was supposed to find the key in the lockbox when I arrived, although we find the door open and the keys on the tabke inside the room. The fridge was smelling bad, not sure why but was not very pleasant. In my opinion the kitchen should have been equipped a bit more that what it was. We had 2 mugs, two glasses, a bowl and a cutter board. Microwave, toaster and boiler were there but there were no plates, a couple of forks/spoons/knife would have been nice. It was not possible even to cut a tomato to make yourself a sandwich or prepare a salad. This should be fixed in my opinion because the place is remote (closest restaurant is at 30 min driving) and need to consider that people get to the island mostly flying so they cannot bring kitchen stuff with them like when one go camping. For the price they there requested I was expecting at least basic kitchen equipment, especially given the location. No one notified anything about upcoming events during the day we were staying there, I would have like to know more about instead of going to look online

Beautiful walking, sunrise, birds, nature. Good internet at the shop! Great place to catch up.

A pool would be nice. Laundry and minimalist cooking facilities would be great. Maybe a communal bbq.

The location is beautifully situated but was a very long drive to downtown Pahoa .

Smoother surfaces on the driveway access.

Lovely cottages and the place it self. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Star glazing was an amazing experience. Enjoyed lovely sunrise every morning. Loved the idea of guest writing their experience in the cottage diary.

Directions inside the property need to be better because I got lost couple of times especially after sunset. It’s scary for new comers like us. I was walking after sunset wanted to visit blue moon room never found one and i lost the back to my cottage, it’s was dark, one guest gentleman name Rauff was very kind to me and he walked with me to show my cottage.

The ambiance of the property itself was beautiful

The room was missing a key, it was not very clean. Not all lights worked. There was a lizard and mouse running around. It was also remote from everything.
