The Old Butchers Cottage

Matlock was nice. Parking a bit difficult but we did have a large vehicle.

Property was damp. Wallpaper peeling off in places. Hot tub only a few jets working. Garden had rocks falling from wall so unsafe if you have children. Outside light not working and hasn’t been since last visitors same as hot tub.

Large beds. Location. Large kitchen. Powerful showers. Hot tub.

Tiny parking spot. Smelled of damp. Uneven bathroom floor. Dirty shower tray. Rusted sink shelf - bathroom worse but also in shower room. No body wash both bathrooms. Grill pan filthy. Dirty crockery/cutlery in cupboards. Fire not working. Oven pans unusable as surface peeling off. Fridge and freezer door seals filthy. No outside light. Garden hand rail covered in green slime.

Great space for our group of 4 ladies. Good base for our trips out. Plenty of towels and lovely warm quilts. Loads of kitchen utensils, always a bonus.

We had to hoover all downstairs as hair and loads of crumbs on the floors. Also had to wash all the cereal bowls as they were dirty.

Close to Matlock centre, with its own parking spot Hot tub great (once we got the jets balanced out) Decor is lovely, each room as a homely touch Facilities are excellent

Nothing not to like

Beautiful, comfortable cottage with everything you need. Lovely location for walking and close enough to shops and places to eat. We loved the hot tub!
