Six on Castle

Very friendly welcome ,clean and comfortable .Everything carefully considered to make the clients stay an enjoyable one

Debbie made us welcome from the first moment we are arrived and helped us settle in very quickly. We bounced a couple of ideas on where to eat in the town, it confirmed our investigation but help us get booked in at the times we prefer. The cooking at the local restaurants use local suppliers and cook in an exciting style. The feel of a community people look out for each other and are welcoming.

not sure there was anything we felt we didn't like, the village / town is very historic and is inviting to everyone.

Eclectic . . . just how we like it. And with a wonderful coffee shop just down the stairs that is popular with the townsfolk.

Having a bit more time to stay would have been better. Devon has far more worthwhile to see and do than we could pack into three days.

Wonderfully peaceful stay at Six on Castle, the room had a lots of character features and was conveniently located with nice surroundings. The host Debbie was very welcoming on arrival and more than happy to provide any guidance.

A beautifully done haven of a room in the magical town of Bampton just outside Exmoor. Thanks very much to Debbie and Steve for making us so welcome. Morning coffees in their cafe are also unbeatable!

A delightful stay in this quirky, characterful and comfortable accommodation. Located above and behind a gorgeous artsy coffee shop run by the owners, serving delicious coffee, pastries and hospitality - a great place to start your day. Situated in a gorgeous village location surrounded by glorious countryside, a great base for exploring the nearby towns and villages around Exmoor - loved it!

We had a lovely time, overall this homely accommodation suited us well for a two night stay. Debbie, the host, was friendly and communicative. We were the only guests present and this was fortunate since we had the sole use of the shared kitchenette area.

Our room was situated to the back of the house which was great since the street in front of the house is very noisy due to heavy traffic. I wasn't too keen on the layout of the building though. To leave our room, we had to go through the bathroom into the hallway.

The place itself is beautiful - I stayed in a 500 year old room which was extremely comfortable - but it was probably the fine people who run the place that made it such a good stay. Very efficient and friendly, and with delightful senses of humour. The coffee and pastries in the cafe were truly good.

Nothing, really. The only comment I would make here is the number of times I was badgered by Booking.com and others to make sure that I paid and stayed. I must have had about twelve e-mails of different sorts between booking and actually arriving! This, however, was nothing to do with the lovely place and lovely people.
