Six on Castle

The place itself is beautiful - I stayed in a 500 year old room which was extremely comfortable - but it was probably the fine people who run the place that made it such a good stay. Very efficient and friendly, and with delightful senses of humour. The coffee and pastries in the cafe were truly good.

Nothing, really. The only comment I would make here is the number of times I was badgered by Booking.com and others to make sure that I paid and stayed. I must have had about twelve e-mails of different sorts between booking and actually arriving! This, however, was nothing to do with the lovely place and lovely people.

The host was extremely kind and helpful and provided free coffee and pastries in the coffee shop below. Lots of items such as coffee, milk and toiletries were provided too. Beautiful room with beams lovingly restored and tastefully decorated

A very minor niggle was that the kitchen facilities were outside on the landing and shared with guests in the other room.

Wonderful location close to everything. The hosts went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. Very friendly!

I would have liked a little more choice in the breakfast area.

Very much enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the coffee shop.

A great stay, really good communication, and hosts were friendly and helpful. The room was divine and the bathroom had everything you could want. There was also a fridge and plate area for tea and coffee making. I was staying for a local event and I have booked again for when I am in the area again. Highly recommended and there is a cafe next door with lots of treats. A local pub, a Fish and Chip shop, and a store for grocery supplies.

The only thing I didn't like which had nothing to do with the accommodation but the taxi cost quite a bit from the station, so it's worth bearing that in mind, especially for round trips or going on to other locations during your stay. It would be best to have a car. Also, lots of flying things come in when the windows are open so a net would also be a welcome addition.

Very helpful and attentive hosts. Spotlessly clean and lovely little touches like chocolates and fruit on arrival. The complementary coffee in the morning from the artisan coffee shop below was delicious. Couldn't fault it!
