The Valley House

Beautiful location and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. A wonderful historic building that maintains its atmosphere whilst incorporating modern, clean bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. The bar was excellent and the traditional music a real bonus. We felt completely relaxed from the moment we arrived and could have easily stayed longer.

Achill Island est un paradis, une pure merveille. The Valley House est un super hébergement, une belle équipe (quand j'y étais), des chambres spacieuses, espace commun, bar, ...

The Valley House est un peu loin de tout sur l'île malheureusement. C'était difficile à pied MAIS : les chauffeurs de bus acceptent de s'arrêter devant la route qui mène à l'hôtel + faire du stop est simple (selon la saison parce qu'en automne il n'y avait juste plus beaucoup de monde sur l'île). Je dois malheureusement aussi parler de la propreté, arachnophobes s'abstenir peut-être : oui on est sur une île et au milieu des bêbêtes mais je pense surtout que la personne chargée de l'entretien devrait mieux faire son travail = enlever les 146 araignées au plafond et sur les lits mais surtout les toiles qu'on se prend dans la gueule.

Beautiful location. Easy check in and friendly staff. Bed was super comfortable, shower was lovely after a day in the field, even if it took a minute to get it going. Kitchen area was very clean, bar and outside seating very cosy.

The guy who checked me in never told me what to do on check out. But i had asked another guest. Just a small thing

The Valley House is a home from home after many visits over the years. Everything you could possibly need and more. The kitchen in the courtyard is a brilliant upgrade this year. The restaurant, open for Christmas, has a broad menu. Delicious arancini and scallops were my favourites. The bar with its welcoming open fire and regular trad session on Thursdays is a comfortable place for all. Lively sessions with Jonny Moran got everyone involved.

Very cozy and stylish place, great staff, there is a kitchen, cozy living room and bar with billiards. Clean room and bathroom.

I would like it to be warmer in the bedroom, but the bathroom and other rooms are very good.

Breakfast is a great range of continental with vegan and GF options available. If you go when the restaurant is open definitely book a table, great food. Bar is also very cool. Rooms are modern and comfortable.

Beds move a bit when people shift around.
