The Royal Oak Duddington

Peaceful location with beautiful views.

Restaurant and bar were both closed before 9:00 pm on a Thursday evening. Arrived to find no food at all available and was told to go to the roadside cafe down the road for breakfast if we needed to leave by 8:00 am. £100 for 1 night with no meals is poor. Plus the windows didn't shut properly so it was really cold in the room.

The Royal Oak was packed with charm and such a beautiful building and pub … the room was nicely presented, very comfortable, quiet and spacious too … the front of house staff were exceptional, friendly and very attentive. I’d not planned this visit, it was very last minute, and it was a great find at an incredible price. The food was to die for in the restaurant and very reasonably priced for such an excellent meal … I’d have paid at least twice the price in London. I will certainly be rebooking and have already recommended this property today!

There was very little I could dislike about this property … for the price and location it was absolutely first class.

Convenient spot. Breakfast was OK but spare. The whole building was very cold and the heating was not on in our room or in the upstairs area.

Better heating to at least make us feel warm.

Location beautiful, lovely walk around village and Church. Good parking and wifi. Lovely, comfortable pub with log fire. Nice food.

Lighting in room was poor and little updating needed. Lovely meal but no dessert as kitchen shut without warning even though only 8.45.

Very clean, food was good and not over priced . Staff were friendly. Nice wood fire.

The shower was useless, ended up having to use the bath. If I wasn’t using the shower properly, instructions would have been helpful . That’s the only thing I could fault

The atmosphere was lovely and the host waited for us even though we were a bit late.

The mattress was a little thin for larger people and the shower floor was really slippery when wet.

Everything in the room worked. Quirky property. Excellent evening meal.
