The hotel staff and ambiance were wonderful. The breakfast bar in the lounge area was very nice.

Unfortunately the cleanliness of the room was not okay. Upon entering we immediately noticed human hair and other debris on the floor and in the bathroom. When we returned from our evening out and turned down the bed, we observed a UNCOMFORTABLE amount of black human hair , possible pubic hair in the bed sheets. Being late at night we did not make a big deal with the front desk staff to correct the issue. We slept on top of the bed and did not touch the sheets. We brought our Dog with us..we paid an extra $100 cleaning fee for having a pet upon check in. we essentially paid extra money for an already dirty room.

Dear Stephen, This is a second time I have been treated rudely and aggressively by the hostess/manager of the starlight lounge. Last time was during the wine convention. There were no seats at the lounge or bar my freind Stan who had invited me and plays standup bass came to greet me and invited me to sit at his table that he had reserved and the manger came and rudely told me I couldn't share his table because there was no room. I sat down on a stool in the lounge with aquiataces and she came over to tell me move and said she wanted me to have my own table. I told her I was fine where I was. Noone came to offer me a menu water or take my order. I finally got up and left planning to never return or recommend the lounge ever again. I reached out via a phone call I never received a return call. Today my father was in the hospital and nearly died. I was visiting him tonight and since I was walking to my car that was parked by the Hyatt House I decided to stop by at 8:30 and say hi to my musician freinds.I teach high-school art and sleep early. I Just wanted to say hi to freinds have a glass of wine. She was rude again at the start. I confronted her and she started interrupting and yelling at me in front of other guests accusing me coming there and not consuming anything. I have dined many times at the Lounge. I have brought family, my father who is fighting for his life at the hospital, many freinds and family to the Starlight lounge. I celebrated my birthday at the starlight lounge there August. I used to work at the Landscape Architecture firm next door and I was invited by the owner to come to opening night. I used to come with my coworkers as well. I came downstairs and told the hostess downstairs what happened. I cried she comforted me and gave me your card and said to email you what happened. I am completely bewildered by this extremely hostile, bullying, harassing and escalation to public humiliation behavior. What have I done to deserve this? The last manager a tall gentleman with gray hair was very welcoming. Please contact me if you have any questions.

This hotel was wonderful. Right across the street from Sutter's Fort, if you're interested in that. We were in that area of town because our grandson was in the NICU at Sutter Hospital (he's fine now), and the location couldn't have been better. It's a beautiful, very unique hotel -- the front and lower levels look like an old 19th century hotel, but it has a modern high-rise hotel built above and behind it. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed. We had a junior suite, which means it had two queen beds and a small kitchenette; our daughter's room was even larger, with a bigger kitchen and two separate sleeping areas with their own televisions (and electronic blackout blinds). My only wish is that we had selected this place for our first night in Sacramento -- although the nearby Fort Sutter hotel where we stayed that first night was pretty awesome too. The surrounding neighborhood has been upgraded significantly (you can see the difference on Google street-view if you click the view back a few years). Just stay on the west side of I-80, because the other side of the freeway is still super sketchy. Don't ask what we saw a guy doing in the McDonald's dining area; let's just say you probably shouldn't be watching that sort of stuff on your phone in public.

There really is no parking nearby. You can try to park along the road, but you will be up at the crack of dawn to feed the meters. Valet parking is the only logical option, which they do offer, but it's kind of expensive.

Lovely room, with a full kitchen that made it easy to be flexible about when and what I ate in town. Location is near so many excellent restaurants, shops and cultural activities (theatre, fort, museum). Staff goes above and beyond with friendly and professional assistance, warm welcome, knowledge of the area. Highly recommend!
