The Diving Lodge Downtown

We stayed at The Diving Lodge at the start of our holiday, before travelling on around the Yucatan peninsula,and liked it so much that we booked to stay again before heading back to Cancun and the airport. It’s a lovely place, in a great location right on the beach. The food at the Greek restaurant, Muses, is excellent; we had a superb meal sitting outside between the pool and the beach, watching the pelicans fly overhead. Beds are large and comfortable, the staff are delightful, there is off-street parking, and decent ground coffee is provided.

Paola messaged me with details for checking in. She met us at our cabina when we arrived. We were able to check in early, which was a bonus.

This is a lovely place, right on the beach, lots of palm trees, and with a fabulous Greek restaurant, Muses. The staff were without exception charming, helpful and friendly. The accommodation was spacious and spotlessly clean with super-comfortable big beds. We liked it so much that we booked for a second stay at the end of our holiday on our way back to Cancun airport. Note that there is a beach club open to non-residents and sometimes with live music, but when we were there the music and beach club stopped at 6pm. Snorkelling over the reef is a great experience and highly recommended if you’re staying in Puerto Morelos; we saw rays, turtles and so many different species of fish.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Cabin 3 is elevated giving a beautiful bird's nest feel and view of the water. It had lots of character and detail in the decor. Our room was spotless and cleaned once during our four night stay very thoroughly. The Greek restaurant next door is great. Beach our front is gorgeous and it was so easy to walk up to our room and rinse off after a swim. We were provided with fresh drinking water and the cabin had a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, etc.

We danced to the music of one live band one afternoon- a blast! All music at the Diving Lodge was done by 4pm each day except for one special event where music was finished by 8:30p.m. If you are looking for peace and quiet in the afternoon/early evening, not your spot. Overnight was peaceful!

Die Lage

Die Zimmer sind sehr laut, jeder Mensch läuft vor der Tür vorbei, und es ist auch nachts noch sehr laut. Nicht zu empfehlen mit Kind. Die Zimmer sind viel zu teuer für den Standard, den man dort vorfindet

Très bon accueil. Logement grand avec kitchenette, bonne literie et très calme (même avec la mer et le club juste à côté). Beach club avec bonne ambiance et bonne nourriture.
