Everything, location, comfort, cleanliness, atmosphere, friendliness, etc.

Room was spacious and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable. Even with the restaurant below it was not noisy.

Very beautiful property with a lovely courtyard and great restaurant. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful and kind, and went out of their way to provide excellent service. Breakfast was fantastic. AC was also very good! Thank you so much for a fantastic stay

I had a lovely stay at Makarun Heritage Rooms. It was more like a Bed and Breakfast experience, with personalised service. I particularly appreciated Ivan and Tia’s warm hospitality, and the gentleman who helped me with my luggage. The location was perfect for walking around the main sights and getting the ferry to Hvar.

Very minor things such as noise from either restaurant staff or other guests late at night going up and down the stairs outside my room. But these are the sorts of things you experience at many hotels.

The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in all of Croatia. The room on the top floor was very spacious.

Wish they had a trash can by the desk inside the room.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay in June 2025. There was excellent communication before our arrival and they met us at the taxi drop-off site to navigate the pedestrian-only area with our luggage. The breakfast was a 3-course meal! And the service was always with a smile! We did not eat dinner at their restaurant but it looked lovely too. The hotel has a great location inside the old city walls but was quiet and off the main square. I would definitely recommend it for a visit to Split.

Perfect location in Split - within minutes of the main strip of restaurants, bus/taxi rank and walking distance to view point. The hotel has its own great restaurant too with delicious breakfasts and great coffee. Makarun is run by truly excellent staff who went out of their way to accommodate for the needs of our family and gave us great recommendations for the best restaurants / beaches too. This was all much appreciated.

We didn’t mind this but there are about 3-4 flights of very steep stairs to get to the top room, where we stayed. All our bags were carried up and down by their incredible staff though.
