Nigel and his staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The service was outstanding. The food was very tasty and presentation was lovely. My stay would have been perfect it not for a WIFI transponder ringing and flashing lights all night long. I barely got any sleep. I was traveling with another party in another room and they had a wonderful sleep. Depite this, I will return because

Absolute excellent service and excellent staff

Stayed at Mount Alverno for the first time and we had a decent stay. The place was clean and spacious and staff was very friendly and understanding. While we didn’t have dinner on site we were notified about the restaurant and hours and appreciated the convenience of having it there. The downside of our trip was that upon going to our room and using the bathroom, the toilet started running (and draining) but would not stop. We called front desk and they sent someone to have it quickly resolved. Unfortunately after coming back from our dinner off site the same problem persisted and they offered to give us another room. We appreciated that and took the next room. Unfortunately this room was not as nice as our executive king room, but luckily there were no more toilet issues. Overall it was a decent stay and I would consider coming back and hope they have that toilet issue resolved.

We loved our stay. Very spacious rooms, up scale inerior designs, comfortable beds. Excellent served breakfast. Definitely iur favorite place to stay in the area

Beautiful property and amazing staff, so friendly

What a jewel of a property! You have the feeling that you are much, much further away from the city than you are when staying at Mt. Alverno. The hotel itself is stunning, and full of surprises. The staff made us feel more than welcome, and we had the treat of a little history lesson about the property from the Head of dining. I would return in a heartbeat.

Comfy beds and pillows. Close drive to downtown. Excellent cook to order breakfast. We will stay again.

am a former employee of the mount. I opened the restaurant up with the head chef and the sous chef and all was well. I went on mat leave in 2022, i had problems with them sending my record of employment so I could collect my mat leave. After that it took a while to get my t4. I went to return to work a year later in Dec 2023 they had hired a bunch of new kitchen staff (Indian) signed on contracts so they could live in the country. I was asking for 30 hours a week, they gave me 12-16 hours a week and told me they had to be fair to the other even though I was their very first employee in the kitchen that they hired and had 3 years senority on the rest of the rest of the staff. I told them i was pregnant and they then reduced my hours further to 6-10 hours a week forcing me to get another job so I could get my hours for mat leave once again. Once again I had problems getting my t4 from them and record of employement, this year I am having the same issue again. The owners and management are extremely rude and ignorant, they do not reply to any of my message or calls. If you want overpriced food cooked by unqualified people who do not have their health and safety or their food handlers certificate this is the place to go! Also they have not been paying their current employees and when they do it takes months for them to do so and their cheques bounce due to their insufficient funds in their accounts!
