Having flown over from the U.K., we attended this venue last weekend for our son’s wedding. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the weekend is that these people are still in business, they are truly and staggeringly incompetent and dishonest. 48 hours prior to the big day the wedding tent looked like a bomb site with parts of the floor missing or destroyed necessitating a complete relay overnight. Worryingly the management seemed to have no idea of the issues to hand, it took them completely by surprise even though there had been a wedding the previous weekend. They seemed not to have inspected the venue in the interim. The ceremony itself was delayed because they had forgotten to provide a microphone or speaker for the celebrant. In the end the DJ, hired by the bride, came to the rescue! The food service was terrible with the “medium rare” steaks all overdone and with the texture of shoe leather. The tent itself was freezing cold and by the main course most diners were either wrapped in blankets, thoughtfully provided by the bride, or wearing coats. The managers seemed to have no clue how to provide any form of heating so everyone stayed cold. Some even left early. Let me summarise things this way…….if you’re reading this whilst considering holding an event or wedding here….DON’T! There are numerous other venues around likely far more deserving of your money. It would appear the owners either learned nothing from the wedding the week before, see earlier reviews, or just don’t care.

Tiles broken and incomplete work at main entrance + room had many cut corners on work done. Very little staff. Hotel room was extremely small. Very poorly designed bathroom (water went everywhere when you shower and the toilet could barely flush your waste). Had to go to front desk to ask for a waiter when we went for breakfast. Main hallways to go to the rooms looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a week or more. Better management is needed for this place to survive.

Quick staycation

I've had a horrible experience working with Mount Alverno for my wedding as well as during our stay after the wedding, all they care is about exploiting couples for their money. They are sloppy, unprofessional, dishonest, cut corners, and the fact that they brand themselves as luxury is a joke. They have no heating in their tents so prepare to freeze on a colder day, they changed the tent structure days before the wedding without notice which caused us upcharge by all our vendors, they threw away our cake, they tried to gaslight us and tell us that spicy margaritas are made with thai chillies (which are incredibly spicy and never used) to cut costs then after convincing them to use jalapenos the day of they used picked jalapenos and soda (a completely incorrect recipe), they spelled our names completely wrong on our guest stay invites, they closed the bar early, they completely messed up our layout so that the photobooth was forced outside, they didn't bring a single plate of dinner food to the bride/groom all night, they upcharge you and add mandatory gratuity to every single purchase down to a bottle of cheap prosecco, they charge $5/person for any additional item you want to down a different signature drink (they don't even offer standard drinks like espresso martinis), they made numerous spelling mistakes in our menus/administrative items, they yelled at us and spoke in an unprofessional manner, they delayed the timings on our events significantly by failing to shuttle guests down from the hotel to the pond terrace until 1 hour into the event, despite being asked otherwise, they promised valet parking and then proceeded to tell guests that doesn't exist, they promised there would be staff day of to take care of the bathrooms - day of the bathrooms were left unattended and unusable past 9pm, they wouldn't shuttle guests back and forth to the pond terrace without significant delays, one guest fell off the shuttle and got injured due to their lack of adequate care, the bartenders didn't know how to make the simplest drinks and would make guests wait 10 minutes to get a drink at times. This just touches the iceberg; they are manipulative and sinister people who should not be trusted, especially for precious moments like your wedding.

Horrible place to have your wedding here. Beware sinister experience, not worth the stress for a mediocre view. They charged 20% gratuity on everything. There is nothing luxurious about this place nor is it a resort by any means. Avoid the hassle and enjoy your wedding somewhere else
