Absolutely loved everything about this place! The peace and vibe here is something I've never experienced before in the UK. The hosts are super warm and friendly - (Apologies for reaching straight out to hug you Cheryl, but you have an instant best friend energy haha). The Lodge itself is adjacent to the hosts property but there are no privacy issues whatsoever, no feelings of being overlooked. Very well equipped and made for comfort. Sleeping areas feel nicely tucked in and private despite the open plan layout. Bedding felt homely and I got some much needed deep rest during our stay. WiFi is good - though I barely picked up an electronic device, it was too peaceful! The garden is just stunning.. Well thought out with lots of different areas for sitting, eating and even swinging! Completely secure for your dog - mine is blind, so I always have to keep an eye on him.. after being weirded out, he enjoyed exploring the different terrain under his paws. There's a viewing platform, which is a lovely little extra and can see some lovely lovely views of the Sun/Moon over a horizon of fields The beach is very close and even possible to walk. We stayed during the first week of September and there were literally only 3 other people there - Bliss! Our intention for the trip was to relax, a nice quiet environment for my son (who has autism and ADHD) to enjoy a day at the beach without sensory overload. Bird Song Lodge delivered way beyond expectations. Cannot recommend this place enough. It is versatile - whether you want to go and relax or use it as a pit stop for adventures. It feels there was no expense spared when building this Lodge and the owners' love for what they do is etched in little details throughout. Zero complaints and nothing but praise for the way they handle their business. From booking to check out everything was great. Communication was absolutely spot on - even some helpful videos for details on how to find it and check in/out.

The location was excellent, we have Autistic boys so needed somewhere that wasn't busy and we could do our own thing.

Nothing, everything was as we expected

The location was easy to find and had good dog walking near by. the Keys were left in the door with a whatsapp sent with instructions on how to find the property

On arrival the accommodation did not meet expectations, the garden needs tidying and dog mess picking up. Once inside the property it was clear that only the floor had been very recently mopped and was wet and slippy but no where else appeared to have been cleaned properly. The flies were so many, we went to the local shop and got cleaning products and fly spray as we had travelled a distance and needed to sleep and rest. I cleaned all the sugar that had been spilt and we sprayed fly spray and left the property to go for a walk, on getting back we removed all the now dead flies and hoped that would resolve the issue. Unfortunately it did not and we got very little sleep, due to the nature of it being a shipping container it was very hot so you need the door open but there is no fly curtain to stop them coming back in and I understand its summer but this was due to the cleanliness. When I advised the host we would not be staying the second night we had booked due to the issues his response was that he hadn't seen any and would advise the cleaning team. I had hoped to rebook to come back over new year as our dog loves the beach but it seems the property and the owners do not value return visits
