Breakfast buffet was a little disappointing compared to other hotels we have stayed at in Obergurgl/Hochgurgl but spa superb.

We had a fantastic family ski stay here. The hospitality and professionalism of the team is the real highlight. Every interaction felt genuinely warm and easy, and it made the whole stay feel special. We also really appreciated how accommodating they were when we asked last minute to arrive a day earlier. They handled it so smoothly and made us feel welcome right away. (We came with a car packed-to-the-brim with gear, and the staff even helped us unload and load everything!) The ski-in/ski-out access is absolutely perfect, the views are gorgeous, and the little touches (cocktail welcome, helpful luggage/ski-gear service) made everything feel effortless. Soaking in the heated outdoor infinity pool under the stars was the perfect way to end the day. The food (cozy breakfast with buffet and a la carte options, sunny lunches on the terrace, and delicious 5-course dinners) was consistently excellent, with excellent service. Bonus points for being truly dog-friendly. We will happily come back.

Location and very close to the ski slopes and ski lift

We would like to share our disappointment regarding our stay at the hotel. Although the location is very good, many aspects of the experience did not meet the standards of a five-star hotel. 1. Cancellation Policy: Due to a technical issue, we cancelled just a few hours after the free cancellation period. We contacted the hotel several times to ask for a flexible solution, but they refused all our requests! There were still more than 30 days before the stay, so the room could have easily been sold again on the higher price. They also did not allow us to shorten the stay by one night, which we find unacceptable! 2. Room and Facilities: The room was extremely small – there was not even space to place one suitcase. This is not acceptable for a five-star hotel. The ski storage room is not well-designed – there are no private lockers. Last year our skis disappeared for a day, and this time someone else’s skis were placed in our spot. 3. Staff: Some of the staff were not polite or helpful, and communication was poor, especially with the parking and wellness team. Otherwise the sauna staff member was very kind and attractive. There was no coordination between staff members. 4. Parking: The parking area was very crowded and difficult to use. 5. Food and Dining: The food quality was good, but the selection was poor ( cheese, salami and ham and cold cuts). At breakfast, many items were already missing 30 minutes before closing, and they were not refilled. At dinner, we were asked every night whether we wanted all six courses, which we found strange. The point of a gourmet menu is to try every course. We felt like the staff didn’t want to serve us everything. On top of that, if you wanted beef or even something simple like a schnitzel from the menu, you had to pay extra. That is unacceptable in a five-star hotel. The dining area was also too crowded, and the tables were very close to each other – it was hard to talk without disturbing others. The bar area is very small.

Almost everything was in line with our expectations. The staff was the highlight both during and after our stay. When we received my son’s phone (by post), which was discovered in the room by housekeeping staff after check-out, we were impressed by its ingenious and thoughtful package. It’s highly appreciated.
