The Vale Hotel

Great place to stay. Lovely local pub. Very nice and helpful staff.

The hotel looks in need of attention from the outside but the inside is a complete contrast and is modern and comfortable. There was an extensive menu to choose my evening meal from and my choice for dinner was excellent!

I had a Luke warm shower when I arrived though I believe a large group of cyclists had arrived earlier and exhausted the hot water for a while. The water was hot thereafter. Sound proofing wasn’t great as I heard snoring.

Great option for a stay in the area. Very well run, friendly and amazing value for money.

Good location on the Thames Path walk. Rooms were a good size, bed was very comfy. Food in the restaurant was ok but have had better pub meals.

Luke warm shower with tiny cubicle. Leaky tap in bathroom. Overpriced given what was available - no biscuits, limited milk/tea bags, no shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. Over familiar landlord.

Pillows. I travel with my own pillow generally but it was not possible on this trip. I struggle with pillows when away as they tend to be too large and too high for me.
