Podshare San Francisco Marina

The location is quite good and access to small supermarkets is easy. The bed is comfortable and clean, with each 'pod' having a small tv and plenty of powerpoints and space making it comfortable (even though it is missing some privacy with no blinds). The wifi generally works well and there is some space for working.

This is almost definitely the worst hostel I've been to (and I've been to hostels all around Latin America, Europe etc.). I would not return. Some of the individuals in the hostel have lived there for many months and are not travellers. Unfortunately, at times, it was unsafe with individuals screaming in the evening (unnecessarily) and conflicts between inhabitants. Further, this limits the social aspect of the hostel which is what one expects to be a benefit. To compound this, there is a lack of private space with no curtains on the beds (and owners that frown upon hanging clothing or towels to create privacy). Further, there are no rooms in the entire complex. The lockers were also not entirely made available to the guests with lockers filled with cleaning and bedding - so I couldn't securely store my luggage. There are only 2 toilets and 1 shower for everyone in the hostel (with one of the showers in the toilets together). The towels were also $5 USD to hire (which I thought was rather expensive). Overall, this was a poor value hostel. The staff at the hostel were generally nice, however didn't know much about the area, which again, is something that one would come to expect from a hostel - that new staff or staff in general are briefed about the area etc. This is a hostel that may look nice on the outside, is not as pleasant to live within.

Podshare provides a safe, clean and easy transportation experience. Great customer service too. The Podshare concept is great!

Great place to stay. Clean, modern and friendly staff. The location is amazing ( lots of restaurants, coffee shops, deli’s, and shopping around) and above all very convenient to transportation.
