Mackinac Lodge

My husband and I stayed in a room at the lodge and were pleasantly surprised by the cozy cabin decor. The warmth and charm of the room gave our vacation a true getaway feeling.

This place is functional, at best. The rooms are out dated and dog eared. Our room was not as clean as it should have been with dust thick in the air conditioning vents and a past guests hair in the bathroom corner. Even in the lodge portion, there is no housekeeping apparently. And only one very small trash can for the entire room. It benefits from a great location, but it's a shame that this facility is sub par.

I could go on and on and make this review very long how often do you get long reviews about good things how often do places that deserve good reviews not get them well I feel it's certainly this facilities turn to have a round of applause for its welcoming feel with great stuff curb appeal very comfort inn quiet clean inside and out I was very impressed I worked in HR for many years in hospitality as well aship and it is a rarity for me to be able to not find a flaw because you guys a che

All items were unplugged, fridge, tv which was challenging to reach the outlets to plug into. The heat in the room shut off in the middle of the night and we woke up freezing.

Extremely noisy the night we stayed. A big truck parade on the street out front was so noisy for over an hour.

Conveniently located at a decent price. The sheets and bedding looked clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. It was a good spot to crash for one night.

Some of the wall in the bathroom was falling apart. A pincher bug crawled out of one of my shoes when I put it on in the morning. No breakfast offered.

There was only one very small trash can (about 1 gallon). There were 3 of us in a room with two double beds. However, we were only given 2 bath towels and 2 wash cloths and no hand towel. The front desk did give us another bath towel and wash cloth when we asked. 3 of the 4 light bulbs above the sink were burnt out making a very dim area to get ready in the morning. There was no maid service so the too small trash can was not emptied and no clean towels left. We were given more towels and wash cloths when we asked.
