Marlborough Hotel

Close proximity to the city, nice pub (coach and Horses) around the corner. The breakfast choice was good and plenty of it. The second day, a member of staff did organise a car park in the hotels car park.

Staff could have been more friendly and providing some guidance for visitors. The view from the room could have been a lot better, looking at a wall is not a great introduction to Norwich. A safe in the room would be nice.

Location was really good 2 mins approx to all main areas of city. Good sized room with a fairly comfortable bed. Didn,t see much of the staff only on coming in and on going out at the reception but were very pleasant and guess if we needed anything they would have been very helpful.We would go back so that says it all really. Managed to get parked in the car park so that was a bonus for us.

A few things would have improved our stay. Firstly the shower tray was very slippery underfoot ,no ridges underfoot either in tray so definitely need to have a shower mat to stand on when showering as we slipped several times ,so fairly dangerous . The hot water in sink took absolutely ages to get warm. Although the room was clean overall the skirting could do with a good wipe in these low areas and the floor was quite dusty also. Found the T.V was way too small for size of room could not read the menu from bed and only one soft chair so 2 soft chairs would have been good as a double room. The room was not serviced each day so came back to an unmade bed not a real problem as such but we usually find in other places this is done and it would have been nice to have the biscuits or at least the 2 bottles of water replaced each day for tea , coffee and for taking medication at night ,again like we have found in other hotels. Just hopefully a few comments to help to make the hotel spot on.

The shower could do with a revamp, it was clean but aged! Only 4 car parking spaces and when full costs £9 to park in the open air car park across the road

The location was perfect as close to the station. Staff were quick to respond to any queries and the room, although basic had everything you needed for a night stay. It was also very clean

Staff were lovely and welcoming.

There was an odd odour in the whole hotel. The room cleanliness level wasn't great. Really needs a good clean. The bed was very firm and creaky.
