"They clearly overcharge, relying on the beautiful location"

6.0

We had an extra bed in the “family room”, the mattress of which was a 5cm soft and cheap foam. Not up to expectations considering the hefty price. Also, the bathroom wasn’t clean when we got the room. Dust, crumbs and hairs on the floor. Empty soap bottle. We reported this during diner and were told someone would come speak to us but no one came. Said this again the next morning at check out, but the employee didn’t seem to care at all. I can understand hiccups but when you charge so much it’s unacceptable. Also, breakfast is ok but choice is very limited. Again not aligned with price. I don’t recommend this place.

"Overpriced and under delivered"

3.0

Dinner was OK. The venue is clean and buzzing. The staff were friendly. The location was good despite no view, except the street.

The dinner was pretty standard and very expensive for the portion size. Soup as a starter for £11, Pasta ~£24! The twin room price was eye-watering - £385 - the room was OK but nothing special. Breakfast was mediocre. The staff were polite, but we only meet Australians, Kiwis and South Africans working there. I assume that they don't have to pay these staff as much as local staff or cannot get local staff. The hospitability skills were lacking, far too 'chummie', and 'matey'. It was not clear who was in charge. We dropped in the key to the reception in one building and they asked us to take it to another building. An establishment charging such prices would say ' leave that to me, sir, I will take the key and sort it out'. Generally felt ripped off, there was nothing special about this experience for a bulk standard one-night stay. I will not recommend this place.

"Spacious Room"

8.0

I reserved a Superior King room which was spacious with a large bathroom with lots of counter space. The shower had an electronic on/off that turned the water on with a touch of a button. (Make sure the wall switch outside the bathroom is “on.”) The hotel has two buildings and my room was in the main building. There is no lift in this building. Breakfast is served in the other building and is a basic buffet. The restaurant on the premises serves a delicious dinner.
