"Excellent food but slow to serve"

8.0

We ate at the Plockton Inn on the recommendation of a family member who had visited a few years before. The Inn has been taken over by the highland coast hotels chain and unfortunately I think this reflects a different experience. The service was very slow albeit friendly but not where it needs to be for a restaurant commanding these prices. We chose well and our food was excellent in both quality and presentation opting for the haddock and chips and the trout risotto. The creme brûlée was delicious and worth the wait although we did think the waiter had forgotten to place our order it took that long! On balance good but could be better.

"Plockton Inn offers luxury in the highlands"

10.0

Great choice for 3 night stay in Plockton. Staff team was friendly and welcoming throughout. Especially nice to be encouraged to join in the quiz. Room was excellent with view of loch and all the amenities I needed. Tastefully decorated with ample relaxation space. The bar was relaxed and friendly from locals and visitors alike. As well as local beer and whisky i had the plockton palm punch mocktail. Food was delicious, I had scallops, pea with mint soup and trout with risotto. Breakfast was plentiful, with choices of continental and cooked to order. Ideal location for wandering around village harbour and out to open air church, memorial and coral beach. Good country roads out then to Kyle for easy drive over Skye Bridge. As just out of season, village shops were closed or limited opening, but tbh being there over a quiter few days made it a very VIP experience! And yes, spotting locations from Hamish Macbeth and The Wicker Man added to the trip. Highly recommended for location, food, room quality and team. Thank you.

"We enjoyed our stay."

Loved the decor in the room. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was very good.

The complimentary tea and coffee didn't taste nice to us. Staff were friendly on the whole but 1 member was a little severe at times.

Bon emplacement, décoré avec goût. Chambre spacieuse Super petit-déjeuner

La literie était moyennement confortable. Nous avions la chambre 1 juste au dessus des cuisines et dans le passage principal, c’était très bruyant
