Adorable 2 bedroom caravan in Clacton-on-Sea

Dishonest host contacted us directly and cancelled our booking hours before travel with some silly excuse about paying too much money in fees to the booking website. Of course AFTER taking a damage deposit and added pet fees and late checkout fees which they said was fully refundable however when asking for my money back said that they had 14 days to return deposits as per the terms and conditions however NEVER RETURNED my money and read all my messages to them before they blocked my number! Hotels dot com intervened and issued a refund however only in one key cash points as they themselves were unable to contact the thieving caravan owners! Steer clear of this property at all cost

I made the booking on behalf of a disabled mother and her 2 twin daughters in my role as her trustee using funds from her disabled person trust fund. I complaint immediately at arrival, the situation got worse when the host accused the guest of trashing the caravan without any evidence and refused to refund the deposit. The guest took pictures at arrival to proof that the caravan was so filthy you could call it inhabitable. The smell was so bad they felt unable to breathe without leaving the door open. The sofa was too dirty to sit on and most of the bad odour was coming from the sofa. The cooker was rusty, shower had sand & mould. The curtains were on the floor, the beds were covered in stains and hair. The carpets were badly stained, mouldy and the fridge and all appliances’ surfaces were dirty. I believe that the pictures I've posted speak louder than words (and in case the host is disputing the date they were taken, they are date stamped). The guest was not in a position to afford to book alternative accommodation for 8 nights with her children and did not want to ruin their holiday by going home, so she had no alternative other than trying to make the best out of a very bad situation. You can only call this a clever scam, offer rather cheap accommodation in a very bad state, accuse the guest right from the beginning of lying and withhold the deposit to make more money. Probably when the next guest arrives this scheme will start again. AVOID!!!!!! TERRIBLE!!!

The location was lovely

How disgusting and filthy our van was.. Now I know why there was airfreshners every where in the van,the bedding smelt really bad,luckily we took our own bedding,that van is not fit for a dog let alone humans,the owner of that van..G54,should be ashamed of them selves,and I would recommend more regular inspections by the park staff,to check the state of every van on the site

The caravan is homely and comfortable. Leah was very friendly and communication was great. There was plenty of cupboard space. There was an ironing board and under the sink I found cleaning spray and cloths which was great plus a nice clean tea towel which I've never had provided before.

There isn't a freezer, just a, fridge but we ate out anyway. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

The pictures doesn’t compare to what it actually looks like the maintenance wise! It’s false advertisement! I advise no one to stay there! Me and my children will never go back!

Everything! it looks nothing like what is advertised, the host is very unprofessional! And will probably try and con you out if your 100 damage deposit! That’s sent to there personal account and doesn’t even ask for your bank details! This place is fishy and a lesson learned!

When we got there it looked dirty I was glad I took my own throw because I put it on the sofa, the bathroom taps didn't work properly the table leg was broken so I was worried about the plates falling on the floor and the lighting was very bad in each room, I have been messaging the owner to get my deposit of a £100 pound back and they are not answering my messages back I wouldn't stay there again

Didnt like any of it as the hosts are terrible...it happened to me and since I have seen they do it to everyone they keep your deposit money then block you.... for absolutely no reason... said I was smoking in there which I wasnt it was outside on her step.... which does nit warrant 100 pound being kept

I had a bad feeling at beginning I wasnt gona get me deposit back and I didnt.... we had site manager come round to cut off all our supplies as she hadn't paid her site fees.... literally knew then I wouldnt be getting my deposit back for some reason..
