Hotel Teranka

Everything about the hotel is wonderful. We especially enjoyed the rooftop bar after day of visiting beaches.

My sister and I stayed at Teranka from 8-12 May and this was the best hotel experience we've both ever had. The hotel and grounds are stunning, area very tranquil and relaxing (the drive off the main road and down to the hotel is so pretty and peaceful), and staff super friendly and attentive. The attention to detail at Teranka was incredible - from the décor of the hotel to amenities to food to service. Everything is high end. We booked the cheapest room, thinking we'd probably get a tiny room with a view of a carpark, but the room overlooked the pool and was pretty spacious. AC also worked well in the room, which was important for two Americans. We were on the top floor (hotel has an elevator/lift), and the shower had a window with a view of the trees plus a rain shower head with amazing water pressure, which was *chef's kiss*. Breakfast was fantastic (the coconut and fig jam porridge was to die for). The beach that's just a 4 min walk from the hotel is pretty rocky, so we primarily went to Playa Arenals (where Casa Pacha is) for sand - it was 40EUR for two sun loungers and umbrella there. The two of us don't eat seafood (I know), but at Teranka's suggestion, we went several times to nearby Malagueña, which was set in a stunning garden, was reasonably priced for the island, and was really damn delicious. Teranka was well-priced (given how luxe it is) and slightly cheaper during our early/mid-May dates, and the weather was perfect. Not too hot but hot enough to lay out and go swimming. The hotel and island were also a little sleepy, which was nice. The only downside was that a few of the restaurants and shops hadn't opened yet for the season. Will definitely be visiting Teranka again. I think the hotel would be great for a bigger group, too, as they have games and a pool table downstairs, as well as great outdoor space to hang out. We rented a car from Pro-Auto through the tourism office website, which provided a discount.

Literally the only thing I can think of that could've been improved on was having firmer pillows in the room - that's just personal preference, though.

Teranka is absolutely wonderful. The hotel is beautifully decorated making it feel like a home from home where we completely relaxed. The staff are really helpful, nothing is too much trouble. All the food and drinks are also delicious.
