Griffin Newquay

Great place to stay! Walkable to everything, very clean rooms, amazing and friendly staff.

Lovely place close to all amenities. Graet custom service from kat at reception. Breakfast realy nice well presented and tasty. Cant fault it.

Nice location walk to beach views. Staff helpful and friendly. Excellent evening meal. Only negative was the bed which was small double bed with unsupportive mattress.

When we arrived (at 8:30am - after a very early morning flight ) our best hope was to have breakfast and deposit our bags at reception - so you can imagine our delight when Kat (manager) arranged an early check in for us. We were so grateful. The room was spacious and comfy and facing the road - and despite reading reviews about noise, we found the stay very peaceful. We had breakfast and one evening meal there and both were good. The staff in the bar and restaurant are very friendly and helpful. The outside facade looks a little tired - but don’t be put off - it’s an ideal Location - close to everything - with lovely friendly service and super comfy rooms. We will definitely stay here again.

Hotel fabulous, exceptionally clean. Room cleaned every day to a very high standard. Food and service both excellent.

Excellent service from super friendly staff, perfectly located, within walking distance of just about everything you'd want to see in the town of Newquay itself!

This is the second time we have stayed at the Griffon Hotel, which is well established in Newquay, it was here when I lived in Newquay in the 70s, so it has stood the test of time. The staff are very friendly, and the breakfasts we had there were excellent. Although we didn't have an evening meal there, I have heard reports the food is very good. The hotel is well situated in Newquay with the Rail Station close by. It has car parking facilities, a bar, restaurant, lift to the first floor. We would be more than happy to return to the Griffon on our next visit to Newquay.

The mattress in our room 8 was hard with the springs coming through..the pillows were also hard and when we asked for softer pillows were told thats all they had,we went to the asda over the road and bought our own..The shower had poor water pressure with a tiny shower head,there was also missing and mouldy sealant around shower base...the toilet didn't flush properly taken up to 3 flushes to clear..mould around bedroom windows which hadn't been cleaned for quite a while...wont be rushing back

This was not one of our better Hotels that we stayed in. The room was a reasonable size for the 2 of us... The bed wasn't the most comfortable bed we have slept in. The bathroom was a good size but unfortunately, we couldn't get any cold water in the shower....only hot and it would have scolded us if we used it. We couldn't get anyone to look at it in the morning as reception wasn't open. Breakfast was excellent although it didn't start until 8 ish and if you have a big day travelling it is a tad late. Overall it was an OK hotel, but one I wouldn't come back to.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. They all did everything they could to make sure our stay was good. we will be back at some stage now that we have discovered them!
