Soldotna Lodge

Mold and filth everywhere. The bathroom was nasty. Stained black on the floor and pink mold in the corners. The bathroom door had black mold on both sides. It’s less than 1 star. We stayed only ONE of our seven nights because of its scuzzy condition.

We realize that they just bought this property, but the floors were dirtly, even in the bedrooms. There wasn't a lot of utensils for us to use to eat or cook with. We liked the idea of the kitchen and purchased food, but we had trouble cooking everything due to the fact that there wasn't much for utensils. Someone came into the facility at about 2 am and made a lot of noise and there was no one around to keep them quiet. Someday, we think this will be very nice, but they definitely need to do some work

Room had microwave and refrigerator but no tv. Bathroom was clean. There was an unexpected tax that added to an already extreme price. Checking in at a location 5 miles away was not convenient.

Bedbugs

Had to check in at a different location, miles away. Directions for check said " they would e-mail directions for check in". That e-mail never showed up. A note on the entry door said "call to check in. When called the receptionist said we had to come back into town to another hotel to check in. This would not have been a problem if they had told us before we got to the lodge.

Convenient, inexpensive, QUIET, a couple blocks off the highway, and did I say inexpensive? I liked it well enough that I extended my stay from two nights to three.

A little worn, a little out of date, but a great place to sleep, relax, and return to after a day of travel.

Soldotna lodge. Sorry but the place needs a deep clean. The room itself was clean, but Windows, benches, floors seemed a bit grotty. Whilst we appreciate check in is done remotely the premises still needs to be assuredly clean and tidy - need closer regular- twice three times a day for supervision/ cleaning of general use area. . We arrived- sink 1/4 full of congealed dishes left by ? Maybe by longer term resident? Anyway filth still in sink and on bench next morning- very poor oversight. This mess made our use of “communal” kitchen untenable/ uncomfortable. Not sure what all the boxes and containers of food in the “pantry” was for, but didn’t look very edifying The hot water tap in room required two- three min running before becoming warm
