The little personal touches to make the stay more welcoming.

Nothing needed improving

On arrival at Shipmate's Cottage, we were absolutely blown away by how amazing the property is. It has so obviously been renovated with a lot of love, care and attention and we felt very privileged to be staying there. So close to the seafront, yet set on a charming cobbled street which felt very tranquil and atmospheric. Everything in the property has been finished to a very high standard and had all the equipment and facilities we could possibly need. Super comfy beds with luxurious bedlinen and towels provided. We were very lucky to have amazing weather but would imagine the cottage would be just as special and very cosy in the winter months. We had no issues with parking (even though it was a very busy day in Scarborough when we arrived), communication from the owner was excellent, good value for money and just outstanding in all aspects. A real credit to the owners. We had such a lovely seaside stay at Shipmate’s Cottage and we will certainly be back!

We need to stay longer next time

Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated and furnished. Touches like sleep sprays in bedrooms. Find the lobster game for kids. It was also spotless. And very well located for the South Beach. Also unique in middle class appeal for a resort that has a rather down market reputation. Scarborough needs more places of this kind.

Can hardly blame the host, as space was very limited, but one loo on the top floor and a series of very narrow steep staircases without bannisters or handrails was daunting for 70+ year olds.

Loved every part of it! All of the attention to detail with the decoration of the cottage and the extras for guests even including the sleep spray in the bedrooms, made us feel like we were in a spa. The location is perfect and we felt so cosy and comfortable Great communication from the hosts and very informative. Would 100% stay again. Thank you so much.

Beautifully furnished throughout with nice touches.

Although the property smelt amazing on walking in this became over powering throughout the stay. Too many plug in air fresheners. You need Netflix/Amazon prime to watch the TV Too many stairs (didn’t see this on booking) Toilet up 2 flights and if you are in the kitchen this is then 3 - Kitchen stairs steep with nothing to hold on near the top. Limited plug sockets we had to scratch about to find them.
