"Good stay overall, but some basics were missing"

This hotel should be as good as the most positive reviews here, but I didn't find that it lived up to some basic expectations. The check-in process (we were the only guests at reception) was lengthy. The representative appeared to be required to enter guest information into a separate system despite it being present in my member account associated with the booking. I presented an American Express card, which failed to process on more than one card reader. The person at the reception desk didn't understand and told me it was OK to pay later, that she would ask her manager what we should do. I explicitly insisted on using that card mostly because it was accepted by the Radisson system as a guarantee, so I saw no reason to lose points because the hotel couldn't follow through. The room (1st floor) was spacious. It was also equipped for cooking. However, it didn't have any equipment to do so. However, there was a period in the late evening where we could hear the beat of the ground floor bar. As a VIP member, I was advised the hotel had no facility to offer breakfast, but we could do so at the nearby Radisson Hotel & Suites. On arrival, the representative checking the breakfast list told us they don't accept guests from Radisson Red. I proceeded to question this at the reception desk, where the front desk manager explained that there was a disagreement between the owners of the two properties about this arrangement and they have been trying to get Radisson to assist in sorting it out. Meanwhile, he honored the breakfast offer; there was no issue the next day. However, I told him this is an internal issue and shouldn't be visible to the guest. The title on his card was 'cluster front desk manager' for both hotels, so I would have expected he would have been better prepared for this issue. The following day, a Radisson Red front desk person, not the one who checked us in, advised me I could arrange payment with an Amex card if I didn't mind going with him over to the Radisson Hotel & Suites. I was heading out, so we walked there together. He fetched a card reader from the reception desk and processed the payment (room charge only, there were no other charges pending). That was the end of the Amex issue, but again, it seems it was down to the guest to sort out their issues. I reported all the above to Radisson Rewards 'VIP Member Service' but didn't hear back from them until I phoned 3 weeks later for another matter and asked the representative to see if she could locate the case. About a week after that call, I received an email signed by the Guest Relations Manager for Radisson Red Gdansk. The letter thanked me for my feedback, and apologized for the breakfast issue - but went on to say that in fact the offered benefit is not available at that hotel but that "breakfast for all guests - regardless of loyalty status - is available for an additional charge at Radisson Hotel & Suites Gdansk." The hotel also confirmed they are unable to process Amex cards, and that the reception team will be given refresher training about accepted payment methods. The message also confirmed that kitchen equipment is available, but must be requested, and apologized for the failure to communicate that fact. In sum, the stay itself was good, but gaps in these basic elements of the customer experience makes me reluctant to return. After all, the breakfast issue may be minor as there are lots of outside options in that area. However, for this to be offered at the time of booking and again at check-in and then have it denied is not a good look and it's clearly not aligned with the brand messaging. It should have been disclosed prior to booking! The delayed response to my feedback and the fact that it didn't really offer any concrete solution - basically "that's what we offer and we're sorry it's doesn't reflect the brand promise" means if I choose to stay there again, I'll know what to expect. Further - the photo on this hotel's Trip Advisor listing shows a pool. That doesn't exists in this hotel, it's in the other Radisson property, and charges an entry fee. Once again, a bit careless on the communications front. Unfortunate, but not a drama. Had these issues not occured, I've have rated it higher than a 3.

Curtains for windows were automatic, could not turn off. So we were waken at midnight and again at 0600 because of curtains going up.

"Some services are not included so be aware "

Advertising is misleading as the pool and gym are in the sister hotel : Radisson Blue and there is an extra charge for it too. It should be stated at the start to avoid agro and frustrations for those unaware. So it is a false advertising. But overall hotel is in excellent location and there isnt anything wrong with it as long as you are aware that spa/pool/gym are not in the same building and there is an extra charge.

"Excellent weekend trip"

Fantastic stay. Always feel warm welcome when you are at a Radisson Hotel. Close to the city center, nice bars and restaurants around, i visited whiskey in jar, thats next to the hotel. Clean room, pretty big rooms for a hotel, but i like it, Nice coffee machine at the hotel. I have already booked another stay in June.

Rengøring var mangelfuld. Ingen opfyldning af toiletpapir. På hjemmesiden reklameres med spa og fitness, men det findes ikke på hotellet. Så skal man benytte nabo hotellet Radisson Suites. Men de tilbød kun adgang til fitness til deres egne gæster.
