"Rejuvenating 3 days in the Retreat Farm"

10.0

Location- pure bliss, open field with the birds chirping reminding us to switch off from our busy day to day grind. The ponies and donkeys were a bonus. Facility- well thought of; cozy little house and very clean& comfortable bathroom. We had the whole area to ourselves ( there are 2 other pods/ little house next to ours) for the duration of the stay and it was joyful- so peaceful that i can hear my thoughts. Gracious host-they are just nearby ready to give a hand if we need something. Thank You Bill and Sue for your beautiful retreat farm!! Would be coming back again for the next de-stressing time off work. Definitely will recommend this place for recharging ones batteries🤗🥰!!

we are grateful for everything and anything

"A very different but enjoyable experience!"

8.0

Liked the quietness, ideal location in a paddock where I could close the gate for my dogs to run around. I was visiting family in nearby Sutton Benger and it was ideal for this.

Probably being very picky here but slightly more floor space , but I am 6’2”?

"Did me for a 4 day stay working locally; had the weather been better I would have enjoyed walks"

7.0

It was fine but nothing specific to mention except that it was good that there was a pint of milk and some slices of bread etc in the fridge on arrival. Well equipped for such a small property; the one thing that I would have wanted was a tin opener (yes most now have ring pulls, but sometimes they fail)!

Not hard to locate but a sign at end of access road would have been welcome reassurance; to know entrance is directly opposite the first of the red road marking counting down to the speed limit would have been helpful. Weather wasn't what I might have hoped; really wasn't expecting to scrape thick ice off the car in late April and then have to do poor boiling water on the latch to get out of the farm gate! [However being small it didn't take too long for the small fan heater to heat the Hobbit House]. Do think it would be better that there was some shingle around the gate and parking area as might have been awkward in heavy rain.

"it’s cute and would be fun in the Spring or Summer it shouldn’t be advertised in the winter"

4.0

comfy bed

no hot water, shower ran cold after about 2 mins, no space to put anything (toaster, plates, cups), heater wasn’t safe, need more robust electrics.
