Breakfast was good as was all food. Very attentive service from excellent hosts. Reasonable prices and a homely atmosphere. A quirky establishment but very clean and welcoming.

One of the kitchen extractor fans needs a new bearing. It intermittently shrieks. all night. The bright light outside the room is necessary due to the steep staircase. But, the glass panel in the top of the room door let far too much light into the room during the night for me.

Quiet location, friendly staff. Parking easy behind the hotel.

'Deluxe' room was very cramped, as was en suite. Mismatched decor, rather scruffy overall, especially lobby/stairs to room. Dining room terribly dark, very gloomy for breakfast. Decor included signed cricket bat and presentation box of a dozen hot sauces, most odd! Sticky table and plastic plant. Chose fish and chips, very average. Breakfast really poor quality, nothing like the photo on website, screwed up streaky bacon, economy sausage, mushrooms chopped into tiny pieces and an egg dumped on top. I have no idea why they claim to be a 'Top 50 Gastropub', there's nothing 'gastro' about this place, they don't seem to care very much.
