Monterrey Motel Padre Island, Corpus Christi BY OYO

Proximity to the beach was great. I’m a frugal traveler so I don’t really care too much about the facilities as I’m not in the room but to sleep and shower.

This is our second time staying here. We were in the remodeled building this time. Once again, love the softness of the water. (No conditioner needed for hair..iykyk) They have done several improvements to the property since our last stay...paved parking lot, large outdoor covered courtyard for smoking, cooking,etc... a covered staircase to the second story of the back building. You can tell that they care and are working to make the hotel better. The staff was friendly and any issues we had were handled immediately. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was nice. Remodeled with an excellent air conditioner ,laminate wood flooring, beautiful calming colors on the walls. The downside was that there had been several holes in the walls repaired, but not well. You could touch them and they would move. One was very large at the head of the bed. The bathroom was nice, new tile, shelving in shower for essentials, storage above toilet for whatever. The downside is it was cramped. There is a small wall that creates the shower and separates it from the toilet area. This causes both sections to be very small ( No wiggle room kind of small).

They never came to clean the room, the staff was friendly, only warm water no hot, asked to unclog the shower never came to do that.

Very clean simple place to stay. Staff is extremely helpful. Plenty of parking for a boat. Great place to stay if you’re looking for easy clean place to stay and fish.

The location is all they have going for them. Otherwise no one would book. They still have old school locks and keys. Huge gaps in the door frames, Shockingly we saw no bugs.

They advertise microwaves, NO microwave! No ice machine no Coffee maker no DECENT TOWELS- ALL TOWELS ARE GROSS! Odd metal Bed frames which are too wide for the mattress are a joy to accidentally kick when you get in bed. Sounds like a gunshot. I suggest they cut the COST in half if they want to be half of their promises. $104. Was way too high for the experience. This property should be inspected and probably condemned. Unless a someone who has some pride in a public business makes a renovation..I'd stay clear of this place.
