Amazing Castle View Apartment

Great location, excellent views, spacious living area, well-appointed kitchen. Very good communication from host the whole time and provided options for storing luggage after checkout.

Second bedroom was small and bed was uncomfortable. Host committed to sorting out the bed.

The view was beautiful, the natural light lovely. The kitchen was pretty well stocked. The welcome guide was helpful.

The bathroom needs a deep cleaning, the tub surround is quite mildewed, the water pressure in the shower is weak, and the hairdryer did not work. The bedding, pillows and towels are very poor quality. The stairwell is very rundown looking. Just had a sketchy feeling, especially for the price. Also, we contacted the host on our arrival day to see if we could store our luggage for a couple of hours before check-in. He contacted us on our last day to ask why we needed storage when it was our last day. Grrr.

The location was good as we found it was central to everything we needed.

The steps leading to the flat from the ground floor- as we went for a book convention and had bags with us and got bags on each day of the convention, this was not ideal. It was mentioned it’s on the 3rd floor but it wasn’t clear exactly how steps there were- a pic or video would have been nice. Bathroom- there was mould in the bathroom by the tub and near the toilet. Temperature- while the bedrooms were kind of warm the living room was never warm. In fact as someone that slept in that room for the majority of time there I had one good night’s sleep and that was after receiving a spare duvet finally after asking from the very first night of sleeping there. Duvet- prior to getting there I had requested 4 single duvets in anticipation of us having to share the beds however this was not done and in fact I was challenged at various times about the need to change a duvet that was stained (my sister has an air bnb and when things are soiled they are replaced not sure why I had to wait as long as my as I did for a replacement duvet). Especially when my initial request was ignored. Pots- rusty and unusable (they were replaced) Boiler- this made noise through the majority of the night, loud banging . I think overall the place was clean, it doesn’t hurt for it to be checked after cleaning though because when we got there and I used my antibacterial wipes they told a different story. Quality- was it worth the money? We paid £1343 and some pennies from 5th September to 11th September (checking out at 10am), I can say without reservation that it was not worth the money. Especially considering we travelled from London to a place 4hrs 30mins away. Someone visited (I had advised that the toilet handle was not working but we sorted that out)- they banged the door and when asked who was at the door they delayed responding- I don’t believe there is a keyhole to see who is outside- either way they were quite reluctant in answering and identifying himself.

As stated, it has an awesome view of the castle. Our main reason for visiting Edinburgh was to go to the Royal Military Tattoo and we were within walking distance of the castle! We also were on a street close to many restaurants and within a short walk to shopping! As we were only staying for the one night we did not really use the kitchen other than the fridge but it was well set up for anyone staying longer!

I felt that they could have provided better bedding/pillows in the rooms! As the weather had become cooler during our stay an extra blanket for each room would have been welcomed! We also felt that the tub surround could have used a bit of work and cleaner!

The location was great for seeing Edinburgh. Fantastic view of the castle. Very well stocked kitchen.

Beds were very uncomfortable creaked at every turn. Had to wait for extra bedding that was promised. As previous guest have stated for the money the bathroom could really do with an upgrade.

The location of the flat was sensational.

The cleaning was poor in the kitchen and in toilet. Kitchen appliances are terribly dirty and the same applies for the glasses .

Great location for the centre of Edinburgh, a short walk to most attractions and many amenities nearby. The view of the castle is a lovely added bonus.

Property could be done with a bit of a refurb, deep clean and a couple of things to be fixed for the price we payed to stay.
