"Cheaper places which offer better elsewhere! First time I’ve ever looked forward to going home from a break away. Would"

5.0

Sheperd’s hut had peaceful surroundings with good views, very quiet. Parking right next to Sheperd’s Hut is very convenient.

Fortunately, we had only booked for 2 nights, I wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer and was in fact debating cutting out 2 night break short. First night, the shower ran VERY temperamental with temperature, it would reach what you thought was an ideal temperature so you’d step in and get a shock by freezing cold water. The second night, we had no hot water whatsoever, even from taps. Cleanliness of Sheperd’s hut was not great, huge cobwebs in bathroom (see pic), lightbulbs in bedroom covered in dust (see pic) and frame under mattress dusty too (have picture but unable to attach since booking.com only allow 4 pictures per review) although these are complaints of which would not effect you massively, this is simple and 2minute cleaning jobs that can be completed to make the stay more comfortable and welcoming! Unsightly bag under sink cupboard of which was collecting water from sink, which was rather concerning. Glugging sound of plug draining all night which disturbed sleep. Door in to Sheperd’s Hut has a gap when shut (see pic), so let’s draft in, making the place cold.. not ideal. Also to mention, lock on said door is very finicky, you have to lift the door to lock it which is rather difficult on the steps. Roads to the Sheperd’s Hut are horrendous with HUGE pot holes, if you’re in a smaller vehicle and catch the potholes wrong, your vehicle WILL scrape! Although the owners aren’t at fault for this, this is something to be mindful of before visiting. Little white flies practically invading the Sheperd’s Hut, majority dying on the sheet of the bed which was grim. Aware that location of Sheperd’s Hut does not help this matter however, maybe something can be put in place inside to help deter them?

Views and location was lovely

Not dog friendly The bed was way too high and the lack of utensils was disappointing Hot water was lukewarm for showering and the front door kept getting stuck when opening and closing had to push hard to close and open it.

"Amazing cozy and comfortable"

8.0

Amazing property with stunning views, well equipped, warm and cozy.

The electricity went of during the night as its solar power. Host tried to overcome this in the morning by powering up a generator but we had to leave before this was able to power the hut. Couldn’t cook our breakfast or have coffee…… HOWEVER, this was no one’s fault and we will definitely be back.
