"Beautiful location and a great place to relax!"

9.0

The location was beautiful, the hut had lots of useful amenities and the bed was super comfortable. Overall a fab stay!

It wasn't clear from the booking that there would be another yurt so close to the shepherd's hut. This ultimately wasn't an issue for us and still felt we had some privacy but might be worth being transparent in the event there are larger families etc. Also the shower takes quite a while to heat up - all minor things though!

"Excellent accommodation with lovely views"

8.0

Very pretty hut in a marvellous countryside setting looking out onto the sheep & hills. The road building up to place is like a pathway where you can only get a car through at a time for miles with so many pot holes but you do expect that in Devon so understandable. If your getting a taxi then be prepared to be ripped off as we got charged £35 to do 6 miles to Bideford the local town then back again so £70 for a 12 mile trip. The bed is very comfortable and accommodation was clean. They have done a good job of the hut to get everything you require within a small area.

The door at the bottom does not correctly fit into the door frame so if was in winter it would get cold due to the large gap. No light in bathroom or toilet paper holder also no hot water for shower or sink.

I loved the the scenic view that you had looking straight from the bed that you sleep in and the rustic wood burner and just how beautifully decorated and compact easy to use the host was lovely and very accommodating

"Beautiful, cosy and tranquil"

8.0

Super tranquil spot, nestled in the Devon countryside. Beautifully designed little hut, super cosy, fantastic log burner. Hosts are so lovely and helpful, with fantastic communication! Really enjoyed our stay here.

As there’s no wifi or mobile data (to be expected!) perhaps a basket with some games would be nice. We found the deck of cards but perhaps some more could be added. Also, this is not something that the hosts can do anything about, the lanes up to the site as quintessential tiny Devon lane but full of crater sized potholes, so just be mindful of what car you’re coming in!

"Very good"

8.0

We had a beautiful view looking out to sheep and fields. We liked the rustic decor and overall enjoyed our stay. Bed was comfortable and it was nice that dogs could run around.

There could definitely be some improvements, paint in the shower needs a touch up, front door doesn’t fully shut and has a gap in the bottom, I can imagine in winter it would get very cold, there was a bag full of water under the kitchen sink which was worrying. There were not notes about not using left side of the tap which we think cause the leak. We had no hot water in the kitchen sink and it took ages to figure out hot water in the shower. I think shower doesn’t look very welcoming, shower curtain was dirty. We almost didn’t have a shower at all because of how it looked. I think pictures are slightly misleading.

"Simple and very quiet"

8.0

Rural and rough. Get away from the city, people and tech, then this is the place for you. I loved it. Got a bit cold at night so bring a blanket. Bed is raised (medium firmness but comfortable), so there is an area under the bed for your dog to sleep (bring their bed). The little wood burner gave out loads of heat, I say have it ready to be lit for first thing in the morning. The place is great for a younger couple with a small dog looking to get away from the world for a couple of days to enjoy each other company :)

The roads nearby to get to the property are small and pot hole ridden. Nothing the property can do about that but just be aware of the roads and don’t race them! Drive carefully.
