Riad Dari Fes

Beautiful design. Pleasant staff but poor service overall.

Hard bed. Repetitive breakfast. Waited ages for staff to help us find riad, in spite of our Moroccan friend giving our location by phone, then gave up and used Google maps ourselves. On our last night we were offered beer, so we accepted, having had reasonably priced beer the night before elsewhere in Fes and other cities. They charged us more than we have ever paid plus 5 euros for a small glass of red wine. Then at around 10pm while relaxing on the roof terrace, we were told we had to pay in cash. This meant going out to an ATM that night, and again the next morning, as we couldn't take out enough cash in one go. We were paying for 6 nights. Who carries that amount of cash around? Why didn't they tell us at check-in? And why in 2023 is Booking.com allowing anyone to operate without credit cards?

Great location, nice breakfast, and I would like to mention the treatment received from Mohamed! He is exceptional and he went the extra mile, his customer service skills are TOP!!! The riad is very nice, all the staff very friendly and it was truely a lovely experience! I definitely recommend!! and I would like to thank Mohamed for all, you are really awesome!! :)

The location was good. The breakfast was good.

The room was on the first floor and the windows faced the inside courtyard, one of the windows was behind a piece of furniture so it couldn't be closed. This meant that you could hear everything happening in the courtyard, which was not good when trying to sleep.

The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Ali, who really made us feel welcomed and helped us understand Fez and Morocco a lot more. He was attentive and always available to assist. He really went the extra mile and cared about our choice of breakfast - we dont like coffee, and Ali was really kind in offering us tea instead. The location of the Riad was really good especially for the medina but it is also important to note that there are many people around the area who would always try and 'assist' to direct you and ask you for money. The Riad was clean. The area outside our room was grand and beautiful. There is also a roof top to have a nice view of the city. This Riad is really good value for money.

Nothing major really. We really enjoyed our stay at the Riad. I think we have the smallest room - which is perfectly fine as the next day there were many guests and they were all in quite large groups. There are many nice, spacious room at the Riad. The only thing with our room is that the drainage in the bathroom is a bit smelly,since it is a small room, it is hard to not smell it, but we had a good stay and the price is reflected on the issue.
