The Starlight Motor Inn

We were a little concerned as we left downtown Charleston and wove our way to this unknown motel. I knew I researched the reviews and understood it was a new remodel and it was a much lower price than downtown but I was concerned. It is a quiet area not any people hanging out and fairly tidy area. Looks like community is trying to renovate the area. The motel fits that. It is #1 super clean. #2 Grounds look great, pool looked good and we didn't see area off the pool area but it looked nice. Didn't enter office because they sent code and instructions to get into room. This was a first and it was great. Room super clean, cute, cute, cute retro colors walk in shower. Amazing. Kuereg, frig. Bed very comfy. Check out just as easy as check in. 15 minutes from historic Charleston at a wonderful price. It looks a little outdated with pinky color but that's the 60's vibe. Don't let it scare ya. My 16 year old grandson was afraid of the sketchy area but was won over quickly. Would stay again.

The Starlight is a fun place to stay! It has a great retro look with comfortable rooms and good Wifi. The lounge has live music also. Definitely a motel to check out!

Very nice newly renovated rooms. The late night lounge and bar area was a great vibe.

Not the best neighborhood but there was a good coffee place nearby. I did not have a car and got uber and lift into downtown.

The immediate area is not the nicest - but the facility is located only a few min drive to several nice restaurants and bars
