The Starlight Motor Inn

Everything was perfect.

Being a historical location, it is not placed in the best neighborhood, but it still felt safe.

The outside looks a little rough but thehe room we were in had recently been updated. Everything was cute and comfortable. The hotel has a bar and a restaurant had just opened up next store but we weren't able to take advantage of either of these.

The location was a little more on the outskirts of most tourist activities. You wouldn't be able to walk to anything interesting.

The lounge and pool

Staff member/bartender Megan was super accommodating and nice. She rules! Decor is very cute and it was easy to reach the property staff with questions. All big Charleston attractions seemed to be 30 mins or less away.

It wasn't in the best neighborhood. I didn't feel in danger or anything, but the neighborhood was a lil run down. Kind of a silly thing, but the property was smaller than I thought it would be based on pictures.

The bed was ok.

First of all the neighborhood is absolutely dangerous. It is a horrible part of town and that came from a lot of locals that we talked to, after telling them where we were staying. There was absolutely no staff, there were signs up saying call a number if we needed help and when you call that number, they have no idea what’s going on with the motel. The lounge was not open the first night we were there. The pool is cold and dirty. We booked two rooms side-by-side and both rooms had wet carpet throughout, the Keurig was absolutely disgusting, the safety latch on the door was nonexistent. The hotel is not what I would call remodeled, more like putting lipstick on a pig. The lounge was open the second night and all you hear is drunk people up all hours of the night. I posted pictures of the place that aren’t edited to the max to make it look really good! Zoom in if you dare.

The place looks amazing! The beds were comfortable and I loved that there was a white noise machine in the room. It is close to downtown and other popular areas.

The lounge got loud on the weekend. People drinking at the lounge were hanging out outside and being super loud until very late. Also, the motel is not in a nice area.
