The Starlight Motor Inn

First, I love old school motor court hotels and this one has updated rooms which was a very pleasant surprise. It sits just 5 miles from city center where much of the action happens. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this property for something different and fun.

The room was very clean. The staff at the pool bar were very kind, friendly, and wonderful. Overall, we had a very lovely stay.

Great little room and I'm not real big on room doors that open to the outside like the old school motel rooms do but I felt safe and the room was adorable. The location was a little sketchy but I never felt threatened even when parking in the parking lot at night. It really is a great little gem!

EDUCATE yourself. I was in Charleston for a girls weekend, on the last night we booked here because it looks quirky and fun. However, as we approached the hotel's location, we were not feeling safe in the area where it is located. Upon arrival, there was no record of our booking (despite having a confirmation). We booked a dfiferent hotel and the Uber driver that picked us up confirmed (a) its not a great part of town and (b) he has picked up multple people from the hotel that had "ghost bookings". I cannot emphasize enough....this is not what I was expecting. The photos are beautful and the reviews did not lead me to believe it was going to be dicey.....but IT WAS.

Everything was great here.. Good vibes, a bar and a cafe attached to the place, nice pool. They even text you about when the live music at the attached bar starts.

The only possible complaint would be the surrounding area is kind of run down, but the spot the hotel itself is at is a hidden gem and tucked away from the riff Raff. I still give it a 5 star!

If you wanted your room tidied it was an extra $25. Bar was very loud. Location was a bit sketch. The contactless everything made it hard to check in etc. Another motel guest had to show me where to get towels and coffee. No service
