Gara Gara Sea View

We were spoiled in any sense! The highly professional manager organized for us all the pick-ups and drop-offs, ferry tickets, guide and so on. It was no need to care about anything. Spent very relaxing and interesting time and will definitely come back again. There are also fantastic and flexible breakfast options at the hotel available. Would recommend to all the couples to stay here!

Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was big and so cozy. The view was amazing.

The bed sheets were made of a fabric that felt wet or humid. This was a bit strange and not comfortable.

The location is beautiful and very quiet - all you can hear is cockerels crowing! The food is really excellent too and very good value, although not all the menu items were available. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

The mosquito net didn't go all the way around the bed, and we only had 10 litres of hot water at a time - it doesn't go very far!

The view was amazing and it was clean

My mom and I stayed at Gara Gara Seaview hotel for 2 nights. Couldn’t recommend this place more! You are welcomed by the extremely kind staff and an amazing view overlooking the ocean and Bali.The hotel is super clean and all the staff takes really good care to details. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature and plants. The restaurant also overlooks on the amazing view of the ocean. We had daily breakfast and ate both nights in the restaurant. The food is DELICIOUS! You can find Indonesian and continental options. Highly recommend the seafood! We ate some incredibly soft tuna steak and shrimps. Everything is fresh and the fruit bowls are very tasty. The prices are very reasonable and totally worth it for a relaxing dinner with a view. Wouldn’t look no further. The rooms and bathrooms are also beautiful and spotless. The bathroom is outdoors with an open air shower. Couldn’t feel more connected to the natural surrounding. We also booked through the hotel a tour around the island, a snorkelling trip to see the mantas, and our trip to return to Sanur. The staff was very helpful in organising everything accommodating our needs. The prices are very good and the tours were very safe with English speaking guides. For all the nature lovers this is a hidden little gem.

We chose to stay at the Gara Gara sea view resort based on the high reviews that were left by people from previous stays and because of the price. The whole place initially looked amazing in person; the pool view was amazing, especially of Mount Batur and the huts/rooms looked very picturesque from the outside. Staff were very welcoming and were on hand to assist with anything that was required. There was a decent selection of food available and was quite delicious. We were provided with free soft drinks and water every day, kept in a fridge inside the room. The staff had sorted out any excursions we wanted to go on, arranging the boat ride from Sanur (mainland Bali) to the island and back. Though there were no spirits available; there were soft drinks, cocktails, beers and cider. We were issued a refund for the last night of our stay, as we had decided to leave early due to the issues stated below.

However, in relation to the room we stayed in, it was sub par; the sheets were stained yellow, and the towels provided all had some sort of red stain on them. These sheets and towels were clearly put through the wash without being checked afterwards. We had asked the staff to replace the towels, which they helpfully did, but the replacement towels also had red blood like stains on them. Even when those towels were replaced the next day, same problem again. At this point, we just used our own towels and did not use the bed sheets for hygiene purposes. When these bed sheets were changed the next day, again the yellow stains were present. Another point, unrelated to the hotel, if you do have an issue with alot of flies, be wary of the toilet as it has an open roof. This again is not a point against the resort, as it was already shown in the pictures, so it was expected. As lovely as it looks, practically speaking you're constantly swatting away flies and mosquitoes as you're attempting to use the toilet. Please also note that there will be alot of insects around as you are trying to eat at the restaurant on site. Whilst we do appreciate that this is Bali and it is to be expected to a certain extent, but not if the insects go in your food as you are trying to eat in peace. The previous place we had stayed at had taken multiple measures (extermination) to reduce this problem. Whilst a few insects wouldn't be much of an issue, an excessive amount would be, which in this case, was. There were multiple power cuts during the evening times, though these were fairly short and lasted about 30 seconds. It is a small island, so this is understandable. It seems that the staff are stretched thin, having to manage everything themselves, one person at times managing the reception, concierge etc and the cooking. I believe that the previous reviews left by people were largely positive because the price for the stay was quite low.
