Alva Hotel

The room was very nice. The location was good. FYI--parking is on the street (other side of the entrance door is the best place to park). The only issue was getting in. We had to call because our code to get in didn't work at first.

Convenient breakfast and lunch restaurant next to the hotel entrance from Monday to Friday till 2 pm and razonable price.

Great place to stay, no hotel staff which is odd otherwise very neat and comfortable.

Overall my stay was excellent. The room was very clean and new, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great. Having no staff means a lower cost, which I appreciate, however this caused a couple of issues for me. On arrival (about 9:30pm) my code did not work so I was left out in the freezing cold trying to test the code and then calling the support phone number. The main entrance to the building does not have any exterior lighting so the entrance is quite dark and it is hard to see what you're doing. The lights in the lobby are also not all on which adds to the darkness of the area. Once I got through to the support number, my problem was quite easily sorted. The second issue I ran into was more my fault. My phone broke while I was out sightseeing. Because my code was saved in my emails I was not able to access it and get into my room. I was able to get into the lobby but then had to wait 45 minutes for another guest to walk through the lobby so I could ask them to borrow their phone to call the support number. It would have been very helpful if there was a phone in the lobby with the support number displayed.

Updated rooms. Super clean and easy. Made my trip staying in this hotel. Thanks

If you have a staffless front desk in a location that is minus 3 outside...make sure the Customer gets the email and has an easy way to get in touch. Hotels.com helped...but a 40 minute experience in the cold is unacceptable.

We stayed in Alva hotel for 3 nights and have say we would love stay more. Beautiful room, good size, big bathroom. Coffee mashing in room and pots to machine, kettle and small fridge so if you need something for breakfast is very handy. Easy check in. We suppose to check in at 3pm but we get there a bit early, we still managed to get in. And how amazing suprise we were that room is super clean. Every day you can hang on your that your room and twoles needs cleaning and replace. Walking distance to town or if you prefer take bus which runs every few mins from opposite hilton hotel. Overall very happy with our stay. Just if I can suggest something, it would be nice to have so cutters in room such as spoon and knife. Thank you having us. Definitely will come to you

This worked well for our family of for staying two nights in Reykjavik. Did not love the keypad to our room, as I had a hard time with it; and this was the only hotel of the six during our stay that couldn’t process our Mastercard. The code to the front door and our room came timely, it was easy to get to and park at, close to the things we wanted to see and do.

Great price, nice room and the bed was especially comfortable. Location was a bit out from the main tourist areas but there are still restaurants, stores and other hotels around. Just a bit of a walk to pedestrian streets and sights. Check in was all done remotely, there is nobody at the front desk and we never actually saw anybody that worked there. Not saying this was a bad thing, the code they sent worked perfectly for the front door and room...I do wonder what would have happened if we needed anything urgently....

Rooms were very clean. Close to all amenities and downtown Reykjavik.
