Great location, comfortable and cosy

Quiet area, close to shops. Very comfortable house.

The bedrooms were clean and had modern furnishings - the large room in particular had ample storage and space. Easy to park right outside or very nearby. Walkable to local supermarket, lovely bakery and some great local restaurants. Communication with the host was excellent and when I asked for an early check in this was made available and very much appreciated.

The kitchen is poorly equipped - no frying pan, rack for the grill pan or oven proof dishes - it was difficult to cook a meal for 4 with what was provided. Only glasses were wine glasses - no plug in the kitchen sink and a cracked washing up bowl provided. A welcome pack with some info about how to use the oven for example and general information about the area etc would have been appreciated. The bathroom had patches of damp and had a rusting mirror/shelf over the sink - the toilet seat kept coming off its hinges and there were cobwebs around the radiator. I did not feel the description of the property made it clear enough that this was not a house but a ground floor flat - early morning noise from flat above was disturbing for me.

small point not a complaint would be handy to have a clean dish cloth to wipe benches and wash dishes instead of the old sponge that was there :would have be hand to have tumbler glasses instead of just wine glasses but it didn't spoil our stay just a note if you get someone who is more fussy than we are and make a complaint Would recommend the flat and stay again the tv great size we are old took us a while to work it out but got therein the end

Location.

Was cold. The radiators in the bedrooms didn't work the bathroom was freezing... WiFi kept jumping in and out had to keep rebooting... went to a mall to get heat and free WiFi to finish my work. Host took a while to answer any messages. From me and from booking .com, would not recommend it at all. Hosts reply is they sent an engineer out. The heaters still didn't work. So nothing was sorted. Weather that week was 2 degrees outside so was minus 2 inside..

Very little. The location was convenient for us.

I have used Booking.com many times but this was the first time that I have been disappointed. We arrived for the weekend on a Friday night in February to a freezing cold house. We had to go to bed immediately as it was so cold. We woke up to a colder house. I contacted the owners and they asked me if I hadn't put the heating on? Apparently, although they were expecting us, they had not put the heating on in winter. Seriously, how is that acceptable? The following day they put the heating on but we discovered that the radiators in both bedrooms did not work at all. Therefore there was no heating in either bedroom. They must have been aware of that as the thermostats for both radiators were lying on the floor and weren't connected to the radiators. There was one electric heater but I could not put that in with my 6 year old grandchild. It would have been dangerous. They have obviously had issues with damp as there was damp on the walls in several places, the living room, the main bedroom and the bathroom and the house smelt of damp. Also for some reason there was only curtains in the living room. I had contacted them on the Saturday morning but found them less than helpful. When they finally responded they asked me which property I was in and if I could send them a picture of the boiler setting? As I was out this wasn't possible. On the plus side, the house was clean but is very sparsely furnished. I have never written a bad review before but felt I had to on this occasion. I was very disappointed with the accommodation which is a pity as the location was ideal for us. However I won't use it again and definitely don't recommend it
