Host & Stay - West Cliff Retreat

Central location, quiet , parking, everything you need

The property is in a convenient location for the pavilion end of Whitby. It was generally pleasant with modern decor and furnished to a good standard, two shower rooms (one en-suite) and a third toilet downstairs.

Although the price was advertised on Booking.com as all inclusive with no taxes or surcharges, Host & Stay sprung a £10 non-refundable "administration charge" for them to take my deposit. When I queried this, they said it was refundable and I only proceeded with the booking once they had put this in writing. When the stay was complete, Host & Stay refunded the deposit minus the administration charge. Then started weeks of chasing and I had to provide their earlier email as proof when they insisted they don't normally refund this. In the end it took 4 weeks to get my deposit back. I would never book another Host & Stay property. In terms of the property itself, there was little storage space, so having somewhere to hang clothes would have been nice. The heating was also slightly tempermantal with the Hive controller randomly resetting itself.

The location was brilliant, just a stones throw from the beach, and a short walk into town, the house was clean and comfortable, with everything you need provided, thanks for a lovely stay

Nice light house with 2 bathrooms. Excellent location. The parking was great and the house was clean.

The outside looks scruffy (though the inside is fine). It needs curtains at the kitchen and bathroom windows. We're glad we took our dressing gowns!!

Space,quite location,own car parking space

wasn't clean enough.Mold growing in both shower,dust/splats all over wall,mud footprint marks on carpet downstairs,holes in plasterboards where nails where showing need filling in,leaking radiator and old leak marks on walls that havnt been painted.

this time the cleaner's had not cleaned if anything they had mucked the glass table with a dirty cloth also used same cloth on stainless steel cooker hood, rings in cupboard, stains all offer down stairs carpet, hair tong burns on carpet in main bedroom, bulbs missing in room and landing we got in touch to complain on the Saturday and said they would be out to replace the bulbs on the Monday did not show, so phoned again be out Wednesday did not show again the cleaning cost £65 had to do it my self
