Host & Stay - West Cliff Retreat

Nice spacious, on-suite in main bedroom, three toilet, 0.8miles from town centre, secure parking.

Couple of minor maintenance issues, wifi code incorrect on sign, not much in area close to dwelling.

Location was good, beds comfy, showers nice.

Unfortunately we didn't get of to a good start, when we arrived the property was dirty. We called to let them know, so they sent out a cleaner who cleaned a second time and still missed 50%of the dirt we complained about. We decided to buy our own cleaning products to do it ourselves. Stains on the carpets. Hair and sand on the sofas. Dried on food on the sofa cushions. Pet hair set off my allergies. Grease on the hob. Bin lid dirty.Sticky food on the tables. I brought a nice candle to make the place smell better. No freezer compartment for ice. No wine glasses. No drying rack. And no shevels or surfaces to put belongings on. No games or anything. Very basic. Outside area was also un-kept. I always use Sykes cottages so this is first time using another agency. For the same price I could have got a better equipped and cleaner property with Sykes so I won't be using this company again.

The location was ideal especially as we had our family dog with us. On-site parking is a big bonus. Good range of cooking utensils if required.

The outside could do with a little TLC and if the weather had been better then I think I would have bought some seat pads for the metal chairs. No ‘views’ from the property but we knew that when we chose it.

Good WiFi, very comfortable beds, very good shower. Close to nice walks.

On arrival it was disappointing to see an unkempt exterior, weeds and rusty furniture. The windows and interior glass table & mirrors were very dirty. £60 for cleaning was extortionate as it wasn't very clean. The tables had sticky rings on and there is dust and crumbs under the sofa cushions. There needs to be a shelf in the showers and hooks as there is nowhere to put things. The place needs a thorough clean and a freshen up.

Within walking distance to main shopping area, very close to the beach and a great Chinese restaurant nearby for dining in or takeaway. Parking outside the accomodation was ideal as can struggle for parking in Whitby. Would definitely recommend and would book again.

Nothing to dislike, as everything just as described.

Clean , tidy accommodation. Got all you'd need. Parking good .
