Martha's Bed and Breakfast

The historic home was a beautiful place to stay. We were in the Dorthy room, which was lovely, however it would be even better if it had two chairs and a small end table, and if you could have access to a simple coffee maker to grab a cup before breakfast would be awesome!

Breakfast could be better; bread, fruit cup and alittle sliced ham and cheese

Was loud in foyer; guests should locate to one of the rooms off the foyer for conversation

First time at a B&B. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we will book B&Bs in the future since this was an outstanding experience. Breakfast conversations were exceedingly enjoyable. The property is absolutely beautiful.

The B&B was pleasant, with clean common areas. Owner put great effort into decor of property - staying with the Victorian theme. Several antiques. Owner took great pride in the furnishings.

All of our concerns were expressed by my husband to the B&B owner during a telephone conversation.. The Owner continued to state "We are a small B&B and can't afford the staff to address your concerns". Continually, stating that our concerns were not his issue and refused to compromise in the form of a refund of any kind. 1. The rubber liner used to refinish the bathtub was peeling away from the porcelein of the tub, creating a trip hazard. Due to the peeling of the liner - as a healthcare professional I immediately questioned the cleanliness of the bathtub. For this reason, we choose not to use the bathtub to take a shower. Owner did disclose this issue upon checking into property, but did not offer an alternate room. 2. No access to the front door, as it was bolted closed and were told that side entrance is only way to enter/exit property. Security cameras located everywhere - 3. No public access to ice water in common areas. Instead we were forced to go up to our room and fill water bottles from the bathroom sink. 4. Owner took great pride in his "coffee system", and gave extensive verbal instructions when we checked in. My husband went down to the common dining area where the coffee system was located the following morning and stated "the system did not have any water to brew coffee". Looking for written instructions to help with the issue were not available. 5. Unfortunately, we left before breakfast was offered. Upon checking in owner indicated that breakfast was at 8am. We went down for breakfast at 8am and realized that there was no staff preparing breakfast. We waited with another couple staying at the B&B for about 5 minutes and we both decided that breakfast at 8am was not going to happen. Upon exiting the B&B a young man arrived and indicated that he was staff and would be serving breakfast. TOO LATE - we told him.

Beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable! Would definitely stay again!
