Hostal Cigarra

The room was cool and clean, staff were extremely nice. Owners or managers seem to be a small family, they were very attentive, assisted with our heavy suitcases without being asked. We booked last minute (around 10PM) due to a technical issue with our AirBnB and they accommodated us fine. Even walking in the area so late at night, I felt safe. (I was assisted by someone on the street with my bags for a little bit of money)

It was a bit hard to find but if you know where youre going, it's a short walk- maybe 4 or 5 minures from the taxi stand or access to vehicular traffic. (It's near the Machetazo Supermarket)

As a Hostel close to Casco Viejo, La Cigarra is a good option. Very affordable and close to the amenities of Casco Viejo. It appears to be a family run business, they are very friendly and nice. It is a good place for backpackers. The location is not for everyone.

The location is extremely close to all the night life in Casco Viejo. The staff was great

The pictures are very VERY deceiving. The room almost looked like nothing in the photo. No hot water. The window cannot be closed so hot air and mosquitoes come in all night.

The place is good to sleep only. Nothing fancy. I have some mosquitoes in my room. And it's not that clean. Basically, you get what you pay for. Ever the guy receptionist is very helpful, even the lady at check out.

The shower was horrible

Clean, central and friendly staff. Totally alright for a night or two, if you don’t want to spend too much money and be close to the old town. Staff was friendly and helpful..

A few minutes walk to the old town, but in a pedestrian zone and a bit dodgy area and not directly reachable by taxi/uber. Basic and a bit old fashioned room.

Excellent location for a low price - very close to Casco Viejo and some very good restaurants. Staff were present, friendly, and helpful. My room had a very functional air conditioner, and a bathroom. The street outside is a brick-paved pedestrian-only shopping street, leading into Casco Viejo.

Very friendly welcome

The Hotel is located in the pedestrian zone very close to the old town. The room was good, but not extraordinary. But what do you ask for for the price. I had a stop over in Panama and for the one night it was absolutely fine. The staff is great and very helpful.

I had to go to bed fairly early and then it was a bit noisy, but I slept alright.
