Aston Sorong Hotel & Conference Center

Our friend group stayed here for a night while transiting through Sorong to catch our live aboard boat. Conveniently located within walking distance from the airport, rooms were fresh, spacious and clean. Restaurant offers many options (buffet and à la carte), the rooftop bar has lots of yummy cocktails and snacks, and the pool was quiet and relaxing. Only complaint was that we had tried to prebook massages at the onsite spa, but were told to just book on arrival. Of course, on arrival, there was lots of confusion regarding massage availability (sign says open 24h, but that’s not reality) as well as pricing….in the end, we managed to get our massages but was a bit of a hassle to jump through the logistics.

Nice value for money. Comfortable room and clean bathroom. Great breakfast buffet, loved the bubur ayam (chicken porridge) and omelet station. Absolutely loved the scuba/under the sea themed Christmas tree! However, the wifi was shockingly bad especially given that this is a conference hotel - our phones and computers kept getting dropped every couple of minutes, and an iOS update of 15GBs took two hours to download.

We have already paid , tired and not happy not paying and extra $40 to get an early check in when i was told at front desk there was a room available ready. No coffee available, no food, uncomfortable chairs to wait in for hours. Also DO NOT Book 'city' tours from here if stuck in Sarong for a day. Super expensive, very limited English, Appalling tour. To a fake village, no commentary, to a deserted bird park . with 4 birds in a cage that was it, no food or water, just in back of car and not much to see!! Told 5 hour tour back in under 2!! Stay elsewhere!!

Location was ideal for an early flight. Room was quiet. Restaurant downstairs had good food.

The pillows were not comfortable. My husband ended up using his blowup travel pillow.
