"Winter weekend"

10.0

We just cane back from a winter weekend at Wander. We had a wonderful time - everything about the place was awesome. Right from arrival with lit fire on the deck, to the beautiful cabin to the warm and welcoming staff. Oliver and Mel at the clubhouse were super helpful in helping us come with a plan for where to go and what to do during our stay. We made use the snow shoes and sleds. They also recommended places to eat and go. We also had a great breakfast one morning at the club house. The cabin was very relaxing and whole family enjoyed our time. We will definitely come back.

"Relaxing laid back luxury stay"

10.0

Booked a 3 night getaway with our 2 young kids to celebrate our December birthdays. The resort exceeded our expectations in many areas, detailed oriented with their furnishings and amenities. Even the 5 star hotels don’t offer a Dyson hair dryer!! The resort offers great in- room cabin packages where we took advantage of. Even their soap amenities were top notch !! Which I ended up purchasing at their store before leaving. Great relaxed stay with the kids as they also have an Alpacas Farm nearby which was fantastic excursion for the entire family. Only wish is that they extend more menu offerings for people who stay longer to have more variety and a kids breakfast menu would be great. Can’t wait to come back near year and may be the place for our birthday traditions

"Zen"

10.0

Such a great girls trip. Very zen decor and a perfect getaway to recharge and rejuvenate. The hot tub and pool temps were perfect for the weather. Quite warm and complimentary to the cool autumn air. The concierge are sooooo accommodating even when we had a flat tire w our rental bike to come and rescue us at a winery. We enjoyed every moment.

"A fantastic spot for summer stays"

10.0

This was our 4th (and 5th) times at Wander, but our first time staying during the summer. This review is going to focus on the differences between summer / shoulder season / off-season visits – the previous review covering other aspects of our stay can be found at https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g499252-d23165670-r838464974-Wander_The_Resort-Bloomfield_Prince_Edward_County_Ontario.html?m=19905 for those interested. Bottom line – Wander offers fantastic summer stays while maintaining the same exceptional standard in terms of cleanliness, comfort, ease of communication as they did during our previous trips. Having stayed during the ‘quiet’ months, we wondered how busy Wander would be during the peak season. And I’m very glad to say that it exceeded our expectations – it was lively without being overwhelming. There are more games to play (giant Jenga or Connect 4), more activities, a lively beach club scene, but nothing that would keep you up at night or otherwise get in the way of a restful holiday. The live music was also a nice treat – entertaining and enjoyable without being too loud. We also had no trouble reaching the concierge despite there being a wedding that weekend – no issues getting our questions answered or making arrangements in advance, including the booking of one of the cabanas. They also very kindly brought over a S’mores kit and extra coffee during our stay. While cabanas are usually a few hundred dollars for those booking via the Beach Club (non-Wander guests), there is a substantial discount available for overnight guests. I’m not going to get into the exact figures, but it’s clear that Wander is very aware of repeat guests and offers personalized service to those who become regulars. We were also very impressed with the quality of the food at the Beach Club, and how quickly it was served. We ordered lunch for 4, and it arrived perhaps 20 to 30 minutes after we ordered – despite it being a holiday weekend. Food was hot and tasty, and good value considering the venue. (There was both an adult menu and a kid menu, which kept costs reasonable.) There was regular drink service for everyone on the beach – overnight guests and Beach Club members alike – and otherwise it was very easy to just walk up and ask for a drink or towels, or anything else you might need. No lineups at the bar or anything like that. The sand toys for kids were also a very nice touch. Beach Club was only run from Thursday to Monday over the summer. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the beach is then only accessible to Wander guests. This essentially meant that we had a private beach for those two days – a few guests were out and about, but not as many as you might expect. I imagine most were out exploring the County. Even when Beach Club is not running, drink service, games and watersports equipment are all available. The main difference is that the Beach Club days involve food service, while non-Beach Club days do not. Glad that we had the chance to experience both. The water mat was also out for both types of days, which the kids really enjoyed. This was also the first time our young children – 6 and 9 years old – had gone to Wander, and they really enjoyed the experience. There were several other families with kids around their age, and they seemed to make friends quickly and enjoy spending time with each other. We stayed at Wander twice over the summer, and during both visits they met and played with other kids. Asked to comment on their favourite parts of the trip, our children chose the following: “Picking up shells on the beach with my new friend.” “Eating S’mores.”

"Wander in. Wander often."

10.0

We will most definitely be returning. We stayed in the Waterleaf and it was simply perfection. The kids had a blast at the beach, in the pool, by the lake and the staff was exceptional. Every detail was thought of and if you couldn’t find it they were always there to help. Thank you Wander for helping us make beautiful memories at your beautiful resort.

"Highly recommended for couples and families alike"

10.0

Wander the Resort is a fantastic getaway for couples and families alike. The accommodations are sleek and stylish, but also extremely comfortable and well suited to a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful and combines the exceptional level of service expected at a five star boutique luxury resort without compromising Wander’s beautiful, natural setting. The cabins are spacious, stylish and luxurious. We have stayed at Wander three times now – twice at the Lakefront Luxury (the Waterleaf) where we had an unmatched view of West Lake, and also at a Lakefront cabin (the Meadowrue) which also had a lovely view, particularly from the deck. There have been bonfires on the beach upon each of our arrivals, and the fireplace on the deck was lit. Parking is close to the cabin and we had no issues with unloading and unpacking. During the immensely cold temperatures over our first weekend, the cabin and its heated floor was immensely warm and comfortable. Further heat and ambience were provided by the in-cabin gas fireplace. In warmer months, we opened the screens and let the cabin cool down naturally. We haven’t had cause to use the air conditioning yet, but I expect it will be more than adequate. Cabins are immaculately clean. There was a generous welcome package waiting for us on our arrival, including coffee, a cork screw, instant camera film, a knitted hat, kettle corn, and other items. The welcome drinks were lovely too. Also, lots of little touches that really added a sense of occasion, like the curated Spotify playlist and the pre-charged Bluetooth speaker. Bedding is comfortable and high end. Most of it seemed to be Endy, and the bed felt like a luxury memory foam-type mattress. Towels and toiletries are also at a similar, luxurious level, as are the housewares. Full credit to Wander for sourcing their beautiful mugs from the Ye11ow, a local artisanal potter. Internet was fast and easy to access. Resort staff were easy to reach by text and very responsive. They also checked in on us several times to see if we needed anything. We had a few minor requests that were handled within minutes – getting extra coffee and booking time slots in the hot tub nearest to the lake. On later trips, I arranged for them to bring in a bouquet of flowers. The price was very reasonable, and the flowers were local and of excellent quality. They had recently set up their beach area during our Spring stay, and we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather. They have a wide range of clean, comfortable day beds, loungers and umbrellas set up, and there was always plenty of room. Despite the luxurious setting, you very much feel like you’re part of nature – low flying clouds, birds flying over the lake, and it looks like the fishing would be great too. We didn’t swim off the dock – a bit too early in the season for us – but the water looked very clean. While the cabin’s kitchen is well suited for cooking, we elected to order-in for the most part. We have done take-away from 555 Brewing, Drake Devonshire, Bermuda PEC, La Condesa, Luso Bites and Saigon Wellington. All highly recommended. If you are cooking, we would suggest ordering in groceries in advance from Bloomfield Public House. I highly recommend Wander the Resort. Our first few trips were couple’s getaways, but we look forward to returning with our children in the summer. I expect they’ll love the pools, the beach, and the bonfires.
