Relais Villa dei Gelsi & Spa

La location è bella e curata, però non all’altezza del costo

Abbiamo avuto diversi episodi negativi: 1- all’arrivo alla location, i camerieri e il receptionist non c hanno aiutato con le valigie e solo dopo aver fatto notare al cameriere che mia moglie era incinta, c è stato fornito un aiuto. 2- abbiamo chiesto proposte per fare un aperitivo in centro città ed il receptionist c ha risposto che lui faceva solo aperitivi economici in zona università…. 3- abbiamo ordinato un pranzo leggero in piscina e la qualità del cibo è stata molto sotto le aspettative, era mediocre, parmigiano, affettati, mozzarella chiaramente comprati al supermercato. Inoltre, durante l’intera giornata c’era una sola ragazza (gentile) che purtroppo non poteva fare tutto quindi si sono creati lunghi momenti d’attesa per le persone al check-in e check out ed in piscina. 4- abbiamo prenotato dei massaggi la sera prima ed è arrivata una terapista alle prime armi, qualità del massaggio molto basso ma la cosa più sorprendente è che pur vendendosi come relais and SPA, non sono provvisti di una stanza massaggi e non hanno nessuna attrezzatura (ad es. Slip monouso, asciugamani per lettino massaggio etc). Il massaggio è avvenuto in una delle stanze, nella quale tra l’altro dopo il massaggio non era possibile farsi la doccia. Durante il massaggio ho chiesto un cuscino per la testa e mi è stato dato quello decorativo che c’era sul letto che ovviamente poi è stato rimesso sul letto. 5- il ragazzo al check-out era molto inadeguato per il tipo di location, molto svogliato, impreciso e per niente ospitale. Basti pensare che al momento del check-out e dopo aver chiamato a nostre spese il taxi, c ha informato che avremmo avuto due corse di taxi incluso nel prezzo dell’hotel ma che ormai era troppo tardi, oltre ad averci fatto fare tre transazioni diverse perche continuava a dimenticarsi cosa avremmo dovuto pagare. Detto tutto questo, la location è carina ma comunque servizio e qualità, assolutamente non all’altezza dei 500€ a notte pagati.

My husband and our 6 year old travelled around Italy in July and came across this beautiful renovated villa in Verona and so glad we did! Absolutely beautiful renovated old buildings now stunning accommodations dotted around the grounds, the main building has indoor spa and there is a gorgeous outside pool and loungers. The staff are so kind and thoughtful, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. There is no restaurant so we took the complimentary return taxi service into Verona (5 mins away) which was much appreciated, as was the complimentary glass of wine while we waited for taxi. Our little boy loved the diving board and the pool as well as the spa whirlpool. You feel like you are the only guests here as it is such a secluded and private place. Will return!

Wir waren für drei Nächte hier und haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und hat uns jeden Wunsch erfüllt. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und romantisch. Das Frühstück ist ausgewogen und bietet eine große Auswahl. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und Verona ist mit dem Taxi in 10 Minuten erreichbar (Hin- und Rückfahrt kostenlos). Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hervorragend. Wir haben unseren Hochzeitstag sehr genossen. Wir können das Hotel wärmstens empfehlen! Fünf Stern in jeder Kategorie! Vielen Dank für alles.

Es war einfach wunderschön.

The property is simply a heaven. The garden is well taken care of, the rooms exquisite and everything is thought for you to relax in nature. It is not in the city, so you need either a car or taxi, but the type of property - spa - clearly indicates that. The breakfast is great, everything’s fresh and the people are very nice, willing to help with anything. A taxi ride from the hotel to the city centre & back is ensured by the hosts, & that usually works very good. Relaxation-wise, you surely can stay there and enjoy a restful, beautiful time for recharge. They are dog friendly, & Albus, the dog host is so nice & shy. The Romanian lady cooking the tarts is super nice & she made some awesome desserts. The reception staff was also very nice, helpful and a true joy to talk to. Surely will come back 🫠

A quiet and peacefull place. Very nice decorated both inside and outside. The breakfast was very nice, big rooms and bathrooms. I look forward to come back with friends and family. Marianne

Nice quietlocation with view down the valley, excellent restaurant and good choice of wines. Very reasonable and great value.

Everything about our stay was perfect. The setting is idyllic and very tranquil. The staff were super friendly, helpful and went out of their way to ensure we felt very welcomed and relaxed. They were also great with our 7 year old daughter. Having the taxi in and out of the city was a real bonus to this property as it enabled us to relax by the pool in the heat but still have all the access to the beautiful city of Verona in 10 minutes. We feel like we have found a hidden gem and are sure to come back here the next time we are in Verona! Thank you to all the staff at Relais Villa dei Gelsi and Albus!

Nothing at all

We stayed here as part of a month long trip exploring France, Italy and Switzerland and this was one of our favourite stops. We had our two French bulldogs with us. The gardens are stunning the pool is to die for (as is the spa however the weather was too hot to make the most of). Lovely room and done so tastefully. We will be back for sure.
