BEDROOM CONFORT, CLEANLINESS AND BEACH

The good: - Very clean and well kept property aside from beach seaweed - Incredibly friendly & helpful staff - Mostly cute rooms & comfy bed - Kayaks you can take out on the ocean for free - Onsite restaurant (very slow) & pool - pool area is very nice and lounge chairs are comfy - Nice shower and shampoo, conditioner, & body wash in showers - Water machine in units

The bad: - AC was OFF in the room when we arrived, so the room was incredibly hot & humid with a musty smell. It took the entire night to semi-cool down. Not a good first night. - We also discovered on day 2 that they had left a window open in the bathroom behind a closed curtain, so we did not notice it right away. Our room stayed hotter until we figured out that was open and shut it. - No regular maid service. We received it on the 3rd night of our stay but not the 2nd. And even still, maid service did not replenish everything evenly (I.e. we had 4 dirty towels and they only gave us 3 clean ones, they did not replace coffee for coffee machine, etc.) - The on site restaurant is INCREDIBLY SLOW. When we had dinner there, there were only 3 other parties. It took over 2 hours for our food to arrive. We sat down around 7 and weren’t eating until after 9. Awful. We did not eat there again. - The beach area is dirty w seaweed. Other nearby resorts seem to clean their beach every morning. I don’t think hidden jewel does so I would not want to swim in the very small beach area there. - Pretty noisy. The restaurant/bar plays music from early in the morning til about 10PM at night. We could hear this in our room the entire time. It was not relaxing. - Random other little things: luxury coffee maker but did not provide any coffee pods - had to ask for those and was not replenished by maid, harsh fluorescent lighting in rooms, only one nightstand in room Other bad (that is not in the hotel’s control but worth considering): - the road leading to the hotel is VERY BUMPY for about a mile. This makes coming in and out, especially at night, difficult. There are places to stay in North Ambergris that are slightly closer to town and still on a paved road. - Far from San Pedro. We stayed here after we stayed in San Pedro, but if we just had stayed here I would have been disappointed at how far it is. Probably about a 35-40min golf cart ride to the airport area.

Property is bit far from the main hustle and bustle. We have rented a golf cart during our entire stay. Last part of the journey to the property is a mud road. Its a very nice property right on the beach. We stayed at the individual cottages. It has a full kitchen if you would like to cook your own meal. Overall we had a great stay.

Beautiful small and intimate resort with wonderful staff. We had such a great break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great place. Beautiful big room, well maintained. Food at the restaurant was delicious. Staff was the best...friendly, helpful.

I would give it a 10, but the location is a little inconvenient

This was our first trip to Belize and San Pedro. Everything about this place was just what we needed. We, unknowingly had an ocean front villa, views right from bed were absolutely stunning! The rooms are clean, water is a bit of a struggle but I’m sure that’s to be expected and didn’t bother us a bit. Staff was off the charts from the first foot stepped on the property till we checked out. Full of local knowledge, advice, and good conversation. Food is decent as well and the beach out front is nice. The pool is a bit on the smaller side but it was never an issue. If you are a Secret Beach seeker, this is a fairly close proximity. If you want to be in town all the time then it’s about 35-40min golf cart ride one way. We will definitely be back!
