Tarzan Marriott On Penida

The staff were such a lovely family! And they couldn’t do enough to help us. Organised trips and taxis and everything! There were also little flowers all over our room when we checked in which was a super nice touch.

Nice and quiet. The rooms are fantastic and was cleaned every day. The staff were very helpful and soo kind. The local animals are very friendly. The food from the bar was also very nice. The Pool was well kept and refreshing.

The walk up the drive/path is quite long, at night this can be intimidating as there is very little light

I had the most beautiful stay here. Felt extremely safe as a solo female traveller. I picked this place to be close to the yoga studios. The family who run this place are kind, attentive and lovely to co-habit with. I was the only one staying here over four nights. Had free breakfast every morning included in my room, a delicious lime juice on arrival and even did my laundry (for a fee). They also helped to return my scooter for me so I could get a their taxi to port. I stayed in pool view room (number 1). The rooms have a king size bed, wet room style bathroom and a seperate cupboard area. Also had fridge, kettle and tea making station. Aircon was great. Very clean. It wasn’t the most up to date and signs of wear, but didn’t bother me. Also, there are a few tiny creepy crawlers in the room so if this bothers you then this place won’t suit. The room was made up everyday with filtered water ready to use. While I was here they had electricity problems for about half a day where the power kept cutting out, and the air con stopped working. They immediately moved me to another room (room 2) and got onto fixing the unit. Very friendly and apologetic. The wifi also stopped working at another point, but this was the last day I was here, so didn’t worry me. I’m sure they would have fixed it asap. Also, the family who runs this hang out all day which is lovely! Feels like a home stay. Three generations all hanging together. They play music and chat. Nothing that disturbs, just lovely ambience. Overall, great if you’re looking for somewhere quiet and off the beaten track, with a wonderful pool to cool off in.

Just to note, the road coming up to the accomodation is in quite bad condition. It is hard to navigate on a scooter if you’re not used to driving yet. I got used to over the days I stayed here. It’s also quite dark at night so take it slow.

Staff is really nice and helpful. They helped us with transport from harbor, and renting a scooter. The breakfast is small but good. There is also a bar and you can get drinks/food if you want from there.

The road to the accommodation is quite long and difficult to ride by bike. Also, the road is a bit dark at night. I'm not sure I would be comfortable walking alone. The room needs improvement: bed makes noises with each movement, water tap is covered in calcar, bathroom needs more cleaning and the window in the bathroom does not open so you can not venitlate.

Just simply an unbelievable place. It starts as soon as you turn off the main road, and you're wondering what are we going to find, you will not be disappointed if you like to discover little gems. It's an amazing atmosphere given it's location, and yet you still can access anything you need to within a 5/10 minute walk.
