Ahu Bay

The best hotel I have stayed in my entire life… and that’s saying a lot! I stayed in 8 accommodation while in Sri Lanka and this was the best. Beautiful rooms with a stunning view right on the beach front. Food and service was amazing and staff were incredibly friendly and super helpful, especially as I was solo travelling :)

Every thing was good

I stayed at Ahu Bay Resort for four days and three nights during the second week of October 2025. Pros: • Villa 101 is beautiful, very well organized, and tastefully designed. • The cleanliness standard inside the villa is outstanding. • The swimming pool is fantastic, and the sunset view from the pool is absolutely outstanding.

Cons: • The resort is very small with only one restaurant. • Food prices are high compared to other places, and portions are quite small for the price. • The beach area is small and not as clean as the rooms. • Electricity was cut off a few times during our stay (including AC and Wi-Fi). • Water was cut off once during our stay. • There is new construction nearby, causing some noise — quite disturbing while sunbathing. • Several people on the beach constantly offered tour activities, which was annoying. • Many staff members do not speak English well, making communication difficult at times. • I requested a one-hour late checkout after a four-day, three-night stay, but it was declined in an unkind manner. The standards of a five-star hotel should be higher than this.

Beautiful hotel set in a lovely location on the beach. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast was in a lovely dinning area overlooking the sea. Our room was comfortable with a lovely view of the sea but needed more cupboard space. We were given a present by the hotel manager on our last day which was rather a nice gesture.

Our stay at Ahu Bay was nothing short of exceptional. The property itself is breathtaking, set between two bays with panoramic ocean views that create the perfect backdrop for relaxation. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and immaculately maintained, blending comfort with understated luxury. Dining at Ahu Bay was a highlight of the entire experience. The seafood, in particular, was outstanding — fresh, carefully prepared, and always cooked to perfection. The menu offers a thoughtful mix of local flavours and international favourites, each dish presented with genuine care and creativity. Every meal felt memorable. What truly sets Ahu Bay apart, however, is the quality of its staff. From the front desk to the restaurant and beyond, every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay feel special. Their professionalism and hospitality elevated the experience far beyond expectation. A heartfelt thank you to Abhishek for his exceptional hospitality and to the entire team for ensuring that our time at Ahu Bay was so memorable. We look forward to returning and could not recommend it more highly.

La chambre était exceptionnelle, spacieuse, très joliment décoré et la piscine privée très grande avec accès direct à l’océan c’était top ! Le personnel était également aux petits soins. Merci à Nirmal qui a pris soins que tout soit parfait durant notre séjour.

There are just one or two things around the beach area that could be tidied up or modernised to make it truly amazing.
