Sierra Woods Lodge

Great place, nice restaurant attached to hotel. Very peaceful and serene place. Very nice place to stay for a night or two, really good place.

Had a nice stay here over the weekend! The staff is very friendly and quickly accommodating to any needs. The lodge is tucked away in a quiet, but not too secluded spot, so it’s very easy to find, yet is in a safe area & away from any busy traffic. The highway is just up the road, but the road noise gets muffled a bit by the forest between - very nice! I’ll stay here again for sure if I’m in the area.

The beautiful trees. The shower. Scenic of the place, old buildings. Just the over all atmosphere of our stay.

No small l refrigerator in the room, steps need to be replaced make them wider , I heard a few people sad the steps are dangerous. I agree. The ones going to room 9. And. 10.

It’s a perfect stop on the way to the mountains. Very home like & comfortable. Laid back & clean!

Expedia got 4/30/25 reservation wrong/ FAILED TO LIST MY TWO SMALL DOGS. Hotel staff were able to fix my need & put me in pet friendly room, thankfully since th e y had no vacancies yesterday! Pet area badly represented by add..down a very steep flight of stairs or by side of building down inclined slippery slope. Both dangerous at night for my 71 yr old self & my small dogs. Nice area when you finally reach area. Window by bed was open & i couldnt get it closed. Stuffed a pillow in it due to temp drop overnight. Couldnt find any way to turn on heat.

Great staff; convenient location for workers or people who want to avoid the complete chaos of Truckee; nice back patio with scenic view; and great restaurant next door.

No air conditioning makes for unpleasant stay in summer. Rooms could be much cleaner--linens and bathroom were clean but don't look in corners or anywhere else.
