The Beach Boathouse, Carnoustie

There were five friends staying at the property. We all agreed that the property was very well maintained and we loved the nautical theme throughout the house! The house was exceptionally clean. The shower was fantastic. It was ideal for our stay. We were extremely cosy with the fire in the lounge when it was very wet and cold outside. The views are STUNNING! The locals were very friendly and helpful. It was big enough for us all to have a bit of room to ourselves.

The sofa bed in the lounge was apparently not very comfy for one guest as we had to use this one evening. The fifth member of the group left the next day so then we were four and we all had our own rooms - which was much better. The upstairs room off the lounge which had the views out to the front - the bed in that room is not as comfy as the rest of the beds. The mattress has sunk down very low. We suggest the mattress could be changed in this room. This was the only complaint!

Very clean, spacious rooms. Loved the glass balcony overlooking the beach, had lovely breakfasts there even in March. Position so close to the beach made our holiday.

Loved the area, ruggedness of the beach, calmer waters between the rocks for swimming(cold, but it is the North sea). Friendly locals. Very relaxing watching tides from the balcony 10 minutes from rail station, main beach and shops

Occasional sulphur smell from seaweed when tide was out
